Ramuh >>>> Gardua, Ixion & Quetzacotl. I want the original summons back, i dont want none of those half assed summons that where introduced later on, Tho! The ones from XII do look badass <.<You do realize all of the summons we have now had to be introduced at one point in time and all didn't exist from the start, right? Quezacotl appeared in 2 games, just like Garuda, so that pretty much puts him in Garuda territory as "not being a summon" -- Shiva doesn't exist in the terrain we have now so there's your answer.
Also, Quezacotl took the place of Ramuh in FFVIII much like Ixion took the place of Ramuh in FFX.
And bring SHIVA BACK!
IIRC he used Shiva as an example for the horrible new primal system.
Edit: Yeah he did:
So one Ifrit, maybe one Shiva maybe one Ramuh, per world.

It's be cool if they somehow combined Beastmaster and Summoner. Here is what I mean: I think, outside of primals, it'd be cool if you could "tame the soul" or "obtain the soul" of enemies you kill (like FF13) that way everybody could customize to their play style and their likes. Yes I know everyone would eventually have the same creatures to summon but not everyone would have the same ones out![]()

So you're whole linkshell goes out gets the summon spends ages building it's power or whatever.
Then some random ls member soloing inferno tapers or something equally mundane is about die, panics and hits the summon button in an attempt to save his ass.
LOL

To be honest, even after they supposedly "cleared up" the way the summoning system is going to work, the description is still extremely vague. I think I'll probably wait until they explain it in detail before I decide.
i do feel it cheapen their value to have personal avatar, for example a goat defeating ifrit? lol it looked silly in FFXI and would be here too.
personally i feel summoner class need a fresh approach , why not make the avatar lend their power to the summoner and channel their power through him/her? the summoner get new look and fight physically instead of standing in the back.

I feel the same way, which is why I like it that they are getting lesser primals as summons. Though I can definitely see it being cool where lets say the summoner job gets summons but the class gets manifestations letting them use skills like garuda's splitstream or something.i do feel it cheapen their value to have personal avatar, for example a goat defeating ifrit? lol it looked silly in FFXI and would be here too.

In FFXI It makes sense that a Summoner summoning an avatar would only be able to summon it as the same strength as the Summoner. Summoners are basically channeling the avatar into the world through them, hence the constant MP drain and the avatar being the same level as the Summoner.

It's a very poor idea. You will have large linkshells (mainly japaneese) over taing control of them and having seekign parties after use time. Or large groups of RMT's controlling them.
It will end up to controlled. It will also result in tension with linkshells, the person gettign last hit controls for the group, setting summon time.
Drops need to be very low in rate in this case, and No tradable/sellable as well if said HNM is defated with a summon.
