But imagine if you dont like 2.0, then ... well basically they just killed your character. All MMOs come to an end eventually, but most people wouldn't play them if the developers effectively deleted your characters every 3 months, or deleted the game entirely.
If you don't like 2.0 you simply don't like it and won't play it -- SE didn't kill anything. You're paying to play now because you want to, you're not obliged to.

Anyways, the point is players will play MMOs with the promise of some degree of longevity. If the developers decide to make a huge upheaval of the gameworld, and not explain what theyre changing, then it's sort of rude. Theyre probably allowed too, sure. It's just shady, that's all.
They have explained what they're changing, just not every little detail. They've given us information about the general types of changes we're getting. Some of it has been more specific than others but we still have a decent idea of what is changing on a larger scale.
