A: There will be a system where players may cross servers to complete objectives. We will have a strong in-game guide, making sure players know where to go and what activities are there to do once they enter a new map.

cross servers he means like if we need to go to balmug to complete a quest or get help we can?

Subjective, since it was technically supposed to launch in Dec/Jan of 2013, but now we hear it's another beta, so unless PC version us launching then and that beta is PS3, good chance nothing till at least March (since we know there will no doubt be an additional delay after beta.) Also by then XI's new expansion is likely coming out, so..good chance it's going to be a hectic early 2013.

Well, at least we get to play A Realm Reborn Beta while we wait for the Launch.. so that's something =).

Also, it means your server community won't matter as much as it does now (in context) as you can pull from other servers to go into instances as people can see across the worlds for who's looking to do x content.

I don't think he appreciates just how much GW2, ArcheAge and Blade and Soul actually define people's expectations, rather than WoW. FFXIV has a lot going for it too, but that's such an arrogant approach to have. Kind of a high opinion of himself.

He's right though, the FF franchise has a rich history and that'll be a huge part of getting XIV to appeal to brand new players.


Also, GW2 is developed by ArenaNet (a completely American company). NCSoft is just their publisher.

He said in a interview the servers should only be down for up to a month at most. I think were missing something here, maybe hes talking about China servers.

Kind of upsets me, I had hoped to have 2.0 by late November/ early December. Hmpf.

No, although not stated here. Sea or Sky was being discussed for expansion content after 2.0. Not the next update following 2.0.

He said said the next update after 2.0 which is 2.1 or whatever is the term :P. They just don't know weather they want to do Underwater World or Aerial. Which to me sounds like " After 2.0 Launches the Next update after that we will get 1 of the 2" In which He's in Favor of Water because of how popular it is. Unless Update= Expansion ( which he didn't specify) I'm only led to assume that its the Next patch after 2.0.

We are still discussing internally whether to go with an underwater world or an aerial one. This content will happen in the next content update (after version 2.0 launches). Going up to the skies happened in Final Fantasy 11, while most games now have underwater worlds which are popular with gamers. We are just still really unconfirmed on which direction to go now.

There's a high Chance Underwater will be First before Aerial.
