He said in a interview the servers should only be down for up to a month at most. I think were missing something here, maybe hes talking about China servers.

Kind of upsets me, I had hoped to have 2.0 by late November/ early December. Hmpf.

After he talked about the beta tests he said the chinese will be later so he was obviously talking about our international servers.
So September -> January it is.
But hey, that's not too bad! We can still play 1.0 version while all the beta tests take place.
(and probably get into the beta too with a bit of luck )
Servers are only shut down a few weeks before the final start of 2.0 to take all the characters and their stuff from the old servers to the new ones so it's not like we can't play for more than half a year.

I'm a bit sad the shedule got pushed back by a few months but I rather get 2.0 later but good instead of another flop.

Actually we cant. It was stated that when 2.0 goes into beta the current game will go offline due to them needing to port it's data over to 2.0, apparently we can not play while this is taking place.

Well I honestly think Legacy players ( people who payed FFXIV) should be the people that gets in first in the closed Beta.
