Exactly. This isn't a new game where you need to have 492 posts in the beta forums or just be lucky to get a beta invite. 2.0 has a current version with current players and people who are paying. Legacy members should be able to play closed beta without any excuses. They can even give us separate dates to play (several worlds play first, then second, etc) to accommodate everyone.

They said the game will shut down only for a few weeks before 2.0 release (so char data can be ported over) and betas will be playable at the same time as 1.0.
Sure, why not? It's not like our characters are used in beta..

If they're gonna have over a million players (which they should with China),
then the ... maybe 20,000 of us currently playing who will actually apply to Beta should all get in,
because they'll still have plenty of room left over for new people, even in the first stage of closed beta.
