Spikey, you contribute with a lot of interesting and exciting concepts. I think this is an aspect of the game that sorely needs improving, and I hope the Developers' ears are open to creative, out-of-the-box contributions like yours.

Completely agreed, and... I find myself Liking Jynx's opinion for once...
(Nothing personal, Just conflicting nature I s'pose)
So yeah Group Crafting FTW!
Anything is better than spamming enter
Don't be so suprised, I range on a wide variaty of subjects we are sure to agree on some subjects and not on others I don't take it as offensive. Everyone has an opinion it's when they try and shove it on someone else or deny someone else their opinion is when I think they have gone too far.
Gatherer's would get the short stick in this. What should they do while waiting for crafters to finish crafting? Keep finding more stuff? Is the stuff they bring in effecting what's made, or is it just random junk that gets thrown into some kinda compactor machine that spits out "Material A/B/C"?
I like the teamwork idea, though.
My added suggestion would be to make it a slight competition, to where whoever produces/gathers the most stuff gets a slight bonus, or first dibs on whatever is made. Or maybe rate the gatherer on the rate and rarity of the items he/she finds, and rate the crafter on the speed and quality they produce.
It'd make more sense if this played into the villages as well. Not the cities necessarily, but the towns located in the maps in 2.0 with small guild houses.
Actually, I'd like to see exp bonus for gatherers and crafters pairing up in teams. A levequest where a Botanist supplies wood for the Carpenter to craft. But there's too many variables to make this work feasibly in the constraints of a levequest, really.
Any type of group crafting/gathering event would have to be built up from the ground.
But please let it be more interesting than Hamlet is...
Hell I think Hamlet could be used to introduce a more interesting gatherer/crafter dynamic. Keep them out of harms way for starts, let the gatherers get actual materials that go into a "Pool" that the crafters can them use to give your party members uber buffs.
Let's say if a Botanist brings down a HQ Rosewood log, and a miner brings down a Electrum nugget, those two items can be used for a few things.
1. Electrum Gathering tools: Increases the HQ rate of all DoL gathering attempts
2. Electrum Crafting tools: Massive boost to initial quality of crafts
3. Electrum Weapons: Gives meele occasional stun on hit and large DPS boost
4. Electrum Gear: Large boost to defensive stats and gradual HP regen
5. Electrum outfitting: Militia gains abillity to occasionly stun when attacked and slight HP regen
Give us a few things like that and make your gathering/crafting stats actually usefull for the hamlet and you bet your arse that I'd be more interested in it.
