They already have a group crafting concept, which they hinted ad briefly a long time ago, though they've yet to implement it (mostly due to the launch storm).

They showed a small screenshot of a bunch of lalafell working together to make a wedding cake.

yea a friend of mine showed me that shit the other day pretty cool and kinda runs on the idea i kinda had in mind. Just atm there isnt much talk about the crafter classes or garthers getting anything and be nice for them to acully get something, i no they got hamlet but well thats doesnt help level them at all, and the ending result is 1 hat for garther ><

Gatherer's would get the short stick in this. What should they do while waiting for crafters to finish crafting? Keep finding more stuff? Is the stuff they bring in effecting what's made, or is it just random junk that gets thrown into some kinda compactor machine that spits out "Material A/B/C"?

I like the teamwork idea, though.

My added suggestion would be to make it a slight competition, to where whoever produces/gathers the most stuff gets a slight bonus, or first dibs on whatever is made. Or maybe rate the gatherer on the rate and rarity of the items he/she finds, and rate the crafter on the speed and quality they produce.

It'd make more sense if this played into the villages as well. Not the cities necessarily, but the towns located in the maps in 2.0 with small guild houses.

Actually, I'd like to see exp bonus for gatherers and crafters pairing up in teams. A levequest where a Botanist supplies wood for the Carpenter to craft. But there's too many variables to make this work feasibly in the constraints of a levequest, really.

Any type of group crafting/gathering event would have to be built up from the ground.

But please let it be more interesting than Hamlet is...

Hell I think Hamlet could be used to introduce a more interesting gatherer/crafter dynamic. Keep them out of harms way for starts, let the gatherers get actual materials that go into a "Pool" that the crafters can them use to give your party members uber buffs.

Let's say if a Botanist brings down a HQ Rosewood log, and a miner brings down a Electrum nugget, those two items can be used for a few things.

    1. Electrum Gathering tools: Increases the HQ rate of all DoL gathering attempts
    2. Electrum Crafting tools: Massive boost to initial quality of crafts
    3. Electrum Weapons: Gives meele occasional stun on hit and large DPS boost
    4. Electrum Gear: Large boost to defensive stats and gradual HP regen
    5. Electrum outfitting: Militia gains abillity to occasionly stun when attacked and slight HP regen

Give us a few things like that and make your gathering/crafting stats actually usefull for the hamlet and you bet your arse that I'd be more interested in it.

I don't really like this idea, DoL/H are meant to be more of a solo thing. Its not like you just spam enter on either, unless you are stupid enough not to realize how much experience and everything you are missing out on.. especially with DoL being so easy you never miss while gathering and always knowing what you are going to get.

Well if we're on the premise of Crafters working on the products on the machines, once the gatherers have brought in the items, they could be tastked with feeding the raw materials into said machine at the correct times.

If items are fed into the machines correctly it can assist the crafter on a better item, or perhaps more room for error on the crafter side.

That way gatherers are still participating. and the crafter is focused on the machines running and the end product. Gatherers are focused on optaining and then infusing the raw materials.

Personally i'd like to see the gatherer's skill at placing raws into the machine give the crafter more room for error instead of a bonus to the end product. I belive this would make it more inclusive for everyone.

Great idea bro needs a little fine tuning but i think it would work really well for people who play as a main crafter
