    1) How do we level up all the jobs if the primary leveling is quest based? If it is quest based and say in the future SE adds another 8 jobs... how are we going to have the quest pool (which is not repetitive) to level say 14-15 jobs from say level 1-75. That would be potentially 10s of thousands of quest.
Well we know that there are the specific job quests, though we don't know if they will add more job quests for the sake of leveling. It could become as dull as repeatable quests or they could make some sort of system that doesn't make it feel as repetitive. However when people on this forum read one thing, they automatically create an idea and stick with it for the rest of their lives. You will get people saying that SE is making you do the same quests over and over again for each job, yet we don't even know how this system is going to work.

    2) With quest based leveling are we going to be locked into 1 job => character model? This has me worried now with the quest leveling and the 8 free slots or whatever in 2.0... The 1 character for everything is one of the major positives for both XI and XIV.
This is one of XIV's main selling point. I doubt that Yoshida would take that away from the game, specially since multiple people have all level 50 jobs, they would instantly lose 6 jobs from no where. If he says things like gil isn't going to be wiped in 2.0, I'd say we keep our characters the same way.

    3) The most important one, is solo questing XP going to be better then Group based XPing like every other WoW clone on the market? MMOs are group games, soloers need access to things to level at a decent rate but it should not = group gameplay xp rates.
I think this is the reason why content finder is being added. It will emphasize group play for not only endgame, but especially mid game content. The content finder will make it so that getting into the actual group will be faster, which will make the actual group play be longer than finding a group.

Not exactly a rep response, but I hope that it clears some things up.

So if their aim is to get as many people as possible to play this game, then they need to replace it with something more exciting. Not to mention something that makes more sense.

Killing the same mobs over and over for no reason makes you wonder exactly who is the monster...

Im not against your point, but what im worry is that we might get crappy quest like WoW, example: theres a farmer and ask you to kill 5 cows, then you go back to him and get 30k exp and gold( sorry, gil), What im saying is if this becomes the center of the game will dumb down the game, like for example the leve system, it felt like it was gonna be interesting and it wasnt, was too repetitive, same can happen with quest chains, instead of cows will be wolves.

I know its boring killing the same mobs over and over again to level up, but one thing that i can see as a positive is that you learn to play your class/job playing with others, at least in XI i enjoyed the leveling because every mob lasted longer so you could test your new gear and weapons, your new weapon skills and see other ppls playing your same job and learning a thing or two, besides you could train your weapon to get better ws.

I know that lots of people would love to see a more solo friendly game, but i dont want to have everything cenetered on that, i want real challenges, like ok they give you quest chains and they ask you to kill or get items form certain area, lets say a beast outpost, everyone knows that the mobs doesnt chase you for too long so getting to the inner areas its not difficult, if they change that and they make you kill every single mob on your way because they wont stop following and attacking you, then we would talk about a good system, you can level up just by trying to complete your quest and you have to grind your way through...i think it was fort Ghelsba or something like that the one near Sandoria, i remember doing a couple of quest there that made you move to inner areas and i had to kill every mob that aggroed me, at the end i completed the quest and leveled up 2 levels.

i don't understand why people are jumping on rokien this time. all i have seen him say is that there should be more options on leveling and they should all be around the same exp.

all i have seen is that grinding, quests, and raids should be comparable to each other and not make one op and the other worthless. that is a point i completely agree on.

Ok, I can dig that, instead of leveling off the quest itself(ya know getting 10000exp when you turn it in) you level off the mobs, which will require a party to kill em. Because really, just talking to a person annd getting 5k exp, is stupid.

They should get rid of levels and make you kill bosses to collect heart containers :P... anyway.. this is interesting.. how will you level another job when you finish the story line? What if all your friends are farther ahead or behind in the quest?

    I agree entirely.

I want to add though that in the same interview he also says they're planning around 200 quests per update every 30-60 days, this is how they are going to be catering to 8 class/jobs.

And to everyone they're have been some very successful instanced quest based systems that do not get old and stale. Take DDO for example, where the only xp earned was for quest completion. The quests were awesome though.

that comes to the next issue, those 200 quests, how well and diverse can those be? I mean really, the more you add the less quality they will be.

If FFXIV has DDO style quests, with FF elements of course, I probably won't even do dungeons that often anyway. Those quests were amazing.
