Water = Cure was never more than players' conjectures that got repeated too many times, without its ever getting confirmation or denial. It really doesn't make much sense, but a moderator's comment would be better than my word, and very welcome.

There is this. Quoted from a similar thread just like this one.
There aren't any water-based attack spells, but conjurers do control water-based spells. The break down of elements are as follows:
CNJ: Water/Wind/Earth
THM: Fire/Ice/Lightning
Also, there are no paralyze/poison/silence/absorb/slow and there aren't any plans to implement them before the launch of version 2.0. However, as we move forward, if it becomes absolutely necessary to utilize them, we will look into it.
Yes, we all read that, but it doesn't mention cure. At one point I thought it meant that in the future there would be water-based attack spells, I even requested additional info on that thread or a similarly themed one, but to this day, nothing has been clarified about this. I, for one, would like for the offensive-spell array and the intended relationships to the elemental wheels to be preserved in full symmetry. In this spirit, water should not lack an offensive spell. And if one element is used for enhancing/healing, then all other elements should also acquire buffs and/or heals.Originally Posted by Rukkirii

If there is 6 elements. water, wind, earth, fire, ice, and lightning. Which one do you think Cure will fall upon? Since cnj can only use water, wind, and earth elements that narrow the choices down.Yes, we all read that, but it doesn't mention cure. I don't know about you, but when I cast Cure, to me it sounds like water. So I think its water type until I'm proven wrong.
edit:
stoneskin is obviously earth
esuna sounds like wind.
I'm just going by observation until a rep confirms this of course
