Ya, and I'm basing my biased experiences off of other mmo. Which it seems like Yoshi is trying to copy..... Just has me worried.I've no problem with quest chaining, but there should be more to EXP than simple quest-chaining. Every MMO that's employed this has been boring to say the least, simply because there's nothing to it.
Yup, not to mention it's the devs that should decide whether "it's a waste of resources or not", at least if you're a Yoshi-P fanboi.
Sadly so.
Again this game already has quest chaining, it's callled leves and it's a GREAT system.

leves are going to be there, XP PTs are going to be there, but knowing SE quest chaining will add CS's and everything leaving people more immersed to the storyline. this is just another add to the XP, remember we have 7 jobs to level. well the new player will. lol

always looking for good people.
This is a big if they do pay attention to it. If it's like standard MMOs, it won't be anything other than a pop up box guildleve style where you hit accept and go about slaying your 6 marmots for 78,900 exp.
Yeah, I'm with you on that.
Yes and no. I like the guildleve system, and it's by far better than most repeatable quest systems, but still not 'great' either since that's all it is - repeatable/dailies/whatever. I do think we could combine it with an Ur-Dragon style fight for the ultimate quest though.Again this game already has quest chaining, it's callled leves and it's a GREAT system.
anything with Ur Dragon would be splendid!~Yeah, I'm with you on that.

Also I never did understand why you got experience turning in a quest, that's what I liked about FFXI. You didn't get exp when you turned in a quest. It's like, cool, got 100k exp for just walking to this npc.
Yeah, while I see the benefit of free exp (who doesn't like gaining benefits for no work?) Tutorial and early level quests in most MMOs are comprised of:
-Make character
-Talk to first NPC with a ! over it's head
-Congratulations! You learned how to interact with NPCs, enjoy your 2 free levels, now go talk to this npc.
-Congratulations! You know how to use common sense in speaking with NPCs with ! over their heads, now enjoy your 2 more free levels.
-Run around for a bit, speak with other ! NPCs whom normally teach you how to use the game systems which are almost always the same between every MMO.
-Congratulations! You know how to play an MMO, enjoy your 7 levels you gained from talking to NPCs..now go out and slay monsters..or speak with this NPC for kill quests.
I get rewarding people for tutorials and the like..but honestly...the main problem with it is presentation and content of quest chaining system is poorly done because they have to do a lot of them in order to make it worth using.
So if you're expecting Main Scenario or Grand Company style quests you'll be utterly devistated and probably even disgusted at SE.
If you're expecting more guildleve type stuff, you'll enjoy it, because realistically, no MMO has done quest chaining well, not even SWTOR because it only turned it into a mediocre single player experience when KoTOR was far superior.
