That being said, the content in a game should not be focused on end game content singularly like SE has a tendency to do. They should focus on low/mid level content as well because it is just as important to attract new players and keep them playing until endgame as it is in keeping the older players who have reached endgame.

    2. The reason you need low/mid level content has already been partially answered in my first point. To add to that, you have to understand that this game will be relaunching in 2.0 and it will experience an influx of new players - well in theory anyway. This game needs a way to retain those players and adding low/mid level content is one answer.

    3. The game the way it is now will not retain new and even some returning players because of an overall unwelcoming community and hyper-inflated economy.

    4. So basically, the actual answer is give us more to do starting from level 1 in such a way that it helps produce a good community.

    1. I can't agree with your #1 statement(though I guess I can see your line of reasoning), also you need to look at things from a different point of view. For one they are adding content for the new players: Refer to this : http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...l=1#post723324

Now with that you will read about the new hubs being put in zones that will add a new slue of content aimed for the new players and they talk about other content in there as well and in the process of doing said content you will be leveling up because the purpose is to do something entertaining and to gain EXP. Also on top of that you will be leveling faster from 1-50 so said content will not be needed as much when you have several options of how to level and do stuff that is entertaining. Once you hit level 50 you can start the real content and not all of that said content necessarily classifies as "Endgame". There is going to be plenty of things to do for people though they are focusing on the group content first and foremost so that the people who been playing since day 1 of FFXIV will have something to do and when all the new guys hit 50 in a short order have something to do. Whether it is raising your new Chocobo in your buddy system or doing dungeons or doing the Crystal Tower or w/e content comes out at 2.0 release.

The point is they can now focus on content that all players will enjoy if the cap to that content is 50. There is no reason you cannot enjoy the r50 cap content over something that is r25 especially when everything you will be doing in 2.0 will probably give you good exp and you will level up quickly.

I guess I just have faith in FFXIV 2.0 and don't question their motives because so far what they have delivered and showing us what they plan to deliver is mind blowing. Complaining before you know what you are getting totally is kind of pointless unless you are just having a conversation of speculation for entertainment purposes.

Well, you're right. It's pointless to complain/argue about 2.0. And I do get where you're coming from in terms of faster leveling, but in my opinion that isn't necessarily the answer.

However, I wasn't talking about 2.0. I'm talking about the game the way it is now. Since they're having us pay for the game as it is now, I'm allowed to point out the faults that I find with it.

If they're going to add more content for 2.0 - and well, they will- then I say that's awesome! I can't wait!

Still... I wish I could display the same trust into SE that you do. I remember when I was in beta and how people thought it was going to get better when the game went live. Well, it didn't and here we are today. Sadly, SE has a bad habit of not delivering on their promises and when they do deliver it ends up as a bittersweet disappointment.

I realize that SE has been making good on at least some of the promises they made in regards to FFXIV. However, you can't fault me for a lack of faith. SE has done this to themselves through years of shoddy customer service and lack of player to company interaction and feedback. Essentially, they made their bed and now they get to lay in it.

    imagine this:
    1-50 easy and meh
    50-100 OMGFSCSBWGOMG

and yes i know you will say "we might not get a raise cap"
    so take a look at:
    1-legendary fishes
    2-high end crafts level
    3-ifrit extreme (50+ which is a hint)
4-skills actions magic (you don't think we will stick to these do you?)

so meh let it be easy and tbh SE aren't so stupid to make leveling easy we all know they got a trick in their sleeves

Protip: We can already level to 50 in a short period of time. All the fun content is 45+, why take longer to get there?
Crafting classes are easier to level than ever. I leveled all my crafting classes besides culinarian to 40+ last fall and at the time I was happy to get anywhere from 500-700 per synth. Now that I've returned after a 7 month hiatus, I'm getting between 1200-1900 per synth without any experience bonuses aside from the bonus from quality. And this is only doing synths that are 2-5 levels higher than my current level, whereas before I would always try to do synths 6-8 levels higher. It's ridiculously easy to level crafting now...

"...as long as you have tons of cash to spend on buying mats or time to spend on a high level crafting job gathering mats." "Ridiculously easy" would be getting that xp from the leves that you're supposed to be using to level, not having to put in a significant time and cash investment in.

I think an issue with many folks in this game is that they go the min-max path of least resistance and then complain that it's too easy. It's easy because you sought out the easiest possible way to do it, there are ways to challenge yourself that don't involve making the game a slog for everyone else playing.

If leveling is the best part of an MMORPG, then go play MapleStory. It has 200 levels and takes forever to get through them all. Should be right up your alley.

Mistranslation. It says *EVEN* in 2.0, which implies the rate of leveling will remain the same.

There's no such thing as leveling too fast. You can level up slower if you really want to. Don't go to abyssea, it's your choice.

Content > grinding. Even if you have to grind the content, it's still more varied than killing the same monsters in one place for a couple hours straight.

    What is this...I don't even.

You can't say that content is better than grinding when content in itself IS grinding.

Actually aside from that I'd love to hear you expand on how the current content (Or future content) is more "Varied" than killing the same monster in one place for a couple of hours straight.

As far as I can tell I go through the exact same motions in every Ifrit, moogle, dungeon, fight for a couple of hours. Hell I even stand in place at the instance entrance while I wait for Cooldown timers.
