That being said, the content in a game should not be focused on end game content singularly like SE has a tendency to do. They should focus on low/mid level content as well because it is just as important to attract new players and keep them playing until endgame as it is in keeping the older players who have reached endgame.

2. The reason you need low/mid level content has already been partially answered in my first point. To add to that, you have to understand that this game will be relaunching in 2.0 and it will experience an influx of new players - well in theory anyway. This game needs a way to retain those players and adding low/mid level content is one answer.

3. The game the way it is now will not retain new and even some returning players because of an overall unwelcoming community and hyper-inflated economy.

4. So basically, the actual answer is give us more to do starting from level 1 in such a way that it helps produce a good community.

1. I can't agree with your #1 statement(though I guess I can see your line of reasoning), also you need to look at things from a different point of view. For one they are adding content for the new players: Refer to this : http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...l=1#post723324

Now with that you will read about the new hubs being put in zones that will add a new slue of content aimed for the new players and they talk about other content in there as well and in the process of doing said content you will be leveling up because the purpose is to do something entertaining and to gain EXP. Also on top of that you will be leveling faster from 1-50 so said content will not be needed as much when you have several options of how to level and do stuff that is entertaining. Once you hit level 50 you can start the real content and not all of that said content necessarily classifies as "Endgame". There is going to be plenty of things to do for people though they are focusing on the group content first and foremost so that the people who been playing since day 1 of FFXIV will have something to do and when all the new guys hit 50 in a short order have something to do. Whether it is raising your new Chocobo in your buddy system or doing dungeons or doing the Crystal Tower or w/e content comes out at 2.0 release.

The point is they can now focus on content that all players will enjoy if the cap to that content is 50. There is no reason you cannot enjoy the r50 cap content over something that is r25 especially when everything you will be doing in 2.0 will probably give you good exp and you will level up quickly.

I guess I just have faith in FFXIV 2.0 and don't question their motives because so far what they have delivered and showing us what they plan to deliver is mind blowing. Complaining before you know what you are getting totally is kind of pointless unless you are just having a conversation of speculation for entertainment purposes.
