Why does everyone have such a Hard-on for Ivalice?

One of the main selling points of FF games is to create a New World with each new game in the Number Sequence. Not a World based off a previous world.. The only thing taken from XI was the races. That was done specifically so that XI players could move to XIV while keeping some semblance of the character they dedicated 10 years to.
