That would be the best way to do it honestly.
Toggle 1: Icons aren't displayed at all
Toggle 2: Icons are displayed when you target an enemy
Toggle 3: Icons are always displayed
There shouldn't be a toggle for such things. It would give an advantage to the players who don't care about the atmosphere of the game, so everybody would just have them displayed. I like adventuring and seeing bigass monsters and wondering if they aggro or not, so I hesitate to just walk passed any of them, or to ask around.... "hey, i see a bigass monster, does it aggro?"
That adds an element of feeling and realism to the game. Do we really need SE to hold our hands when walking from Point A to point B?
Apparently you advocate for YG.com or the wiki to hold the hands of the players that want to be held, rather than having the option in the game itself. I don't think it's worth arguing with you at that point, honestly.
See my first post in this thread. Nothing has changed just because the information is in the game. You can still have what you're asking for, and those that don't want it never had to take it to begin with.
EDIT: Actually wait, I take everything back: you're who just said you want the information in game, but only when targetting enemies. How do you get the immersion and realism you want, when targetting is one click away? I feel like a second personality took over between those two posts.
If you can avoid targetting enemies while exploring areas, why can't you do /toggle 2? Don't you realize most players would tab through enemies if they really wanted to avoid what aggros?

What do you care what "everyone else does?" If it your personal immersion that you want to keep, don't use it. Its as simple as that. There shouldn't be a toggle for such things. Was thinking that as well. The aggro icon would look much better if it was the same shape as the non-aggro icon. Also like how the icons are hidden behind the level numbers so the icons don't stand out as much.
Would still like some indication if a mob cons as too weak to aggro a player though, as the aggro icon can be misleading in that sense. Or just make all agressive mobs aggro, no matter what the level gap is between it and the player.
I'd agree with that a simple red orb and green orb would be enough, the star is a bit ugly looking.
They could simplify it to red numbers and green numbers to make it even less intrusive.

LS Member: Oh don't worry, just take the southern trail. There's only GREEN 12s there.
