You only heard horror stories from lazy people lol. Btw, if SE adds a lot of situational gear to XIV, there's going to eventually be a need for which, which they also stated they had no current plans to introduce it, but they aren't against the idea if it's needed.

Situational =/= every other ability.

also, it's very clear that they have made moves against gearswapping. Active/passive mode, hamlet defense in general, etc.

Exactly, situational, you didn't need to gear swap for every ability because there's always an innate cap. This is why people are against it because of misinformation.

The only time you'd ever gear swap for "every ability" is if you're trying to reduce the timer heavily, otherwise no need for it.

My point still stands. It's completely useless for this game considering you can hit most caps with one set of gear. If you really want that extra invigorate/ballad of magi/presence of mind/fist of wind/whatever, wear the damn AF. Or equip yourself before a fight. Having it mid battle is ridiculous.
