NVIDIA just released beta GeForce drivers (304.48).

The release notes mention an updated SLI profile for FFXIV. I'm downloading it right now. I'll let you know if it works any better.

Reproduce what? That topic didn't specifically said anything about the directx errorNvidia was finally able to reproduce it, no fix is coming however:

I guess people just need to deal with it and wait for 2.0 engine.
The beta NVIDIA drivers didn't seem to fix anything.![]()
They don't give a shit. That's what I got from cannot reproduce. 99% of the users can. They should just come. We dont know what the fck this error is. Here guys, you spent $650 dollars for a card that runs games worse than the late 580's. Take this rebate of $100 and be happy.
Yeah right....
It crashes a lot more rarely with Depth of Field and AO turned off...
....but I really like how the game looks with AO turned on. Very disappointing.
Oh well, if 2.0 really looks as good as those screenshots, I won't have to put up with it for long.
Played for only a couple hours last night after the patch, but did not crash once.
How's it working for everyone else?
i still crash randomly, its a known issue with Uldah and Uldah merc house (in other cities also).
I noticed my server is always getting emergency maintenance also (Excalibur).
They also said in the most recent patch that they fixed aa couple of places where the game crashes so im sure SE is aware of the crashes ppl are experiencing.
I'm pretty sure at this point its not nvidia's fault. My 670 runs other games flawlessly, i just hope 2.0 works fine.
nVidia has already admitted that they are able to reproduce the issue, so there is certainly an issue with how XIV, the driver, and the 6xx series interact. Hopefully they fix it sooner rather than later.
In other news, since the most recent patch, I've been crashing more often (twice in the past few minutes, at least once the past few days).
What do you have your graphics settings at?
I have all mine set to their highest settings, except AA, AO, DoF, and hardware mouse cursor are all turned off. In the NVidia settings I have the default program settings for FFXIVgame.exe, except I turned FXAA on. Now, the game almost never crashes, except every once in awhile if I spend too much time in a city (like hours)
I have a GTX 680 and it took me days to get it stable with FFXIV.
On the nVidia forums there is a sub-forum for "Optimum Playable Settings for Games", and I have posted my settings there. Maybe it will help someone else.
