Update comment from Triairy regarding being able to put in names of NPC/PC in macro's to make targeting easier.
Good evening,
We have mentioned previously regarding putting NPC or PC name to target in macro's.
We have been working on this towards 1.22b release but we found out this was a lot harder to do with current system, we apologize for this.
In 2.0 we are making the UI so there is less situation where you need to type the NPC or PC names.
When targeting party menber.
Be able to make your own rule to sort the party list on your own. Be able to target selected member for example TA1 being Tank.
When targeting an enemy.
Command to target the enemy that has enmity on own PC
We are thinking there will be less situation to manually enter by including the above but we are planning still to have commands such as /invite which still requires you to manually enter the name.

Once we have more details on the feature would like to let you know.
If you have any other feedbacks please let us know, thank you.
Rein, are the JP forums also confused in regards to the letter claiming the promotional campaign is starting at E3 but not happening till August?
Just curious if the original letter is poorly worded or it's just bad translation.
I've been following up on that on on Forums here and 2CH and JP's think there will still be some type of announcement of FFXIV at E3, could just be for all the interviews like others said but same time the letter does say about launch of the 2.0 promo website.
JP's also wondering the same thing, if nothing at E3 why is YoshiP even going? & some responded just like the NA threads - could be for the interview since it was supposed to be up for E3 from his previous interviews/road map info.
I'm sorry if I jinxed this... lol I wrote on YoshiP's forum long time ago if they are just going to show off SE's regular CGI movie only crap might as well pull it out of E3 and get it out on more player surrounded convention such as Gamescon or TGS... ><
Maybe...it's all a trick, and there really is a trailer at E3.
But no.
No worries, thank you for checking that out. I'm sort of happy to know they're just as confused as we are because this means it wasn't a fluke or a translation error. Hopefully someone will follow up on this soon.
Yeah you would think the dev's would push out a response rather quickly.
Prolly to busy prepping things for E3, plus it was memorial day yesterday so that's why the reps on our end are quiet lol. There may be some news today but I"m pretty sure their have tunnel vision til E3 hits. Lots of them are prolly on edge wondering how the public response will be once they announce and release the site. They want to make sure nothing F's up like most XI exhibitions have in the past lol.
If you've never taken part in an XI showcase they always seem to have some in game issues with not being able to present things and always run into issues. Such as when MMM was first showcased the devs were trying to show it off and were confused as to why they were getting the message "the dark hands forbid you from entering" <--Flavor text added to english build most likely the japanese version said something like "server congestion please try again"
But it's that kind of "unprofessional" showcasing they want to prevent so if they're quiet it's only cause they are making sure everything they have planned comes together properly. E3 is the start of the make it or break it. There's no telling what the deadline will be for them to succeed when 2.0 hits, they may only have a yr to prove themselves after that but if they can't get the right response from the gamers at E3 it'll just make it that much harder for things to come together upon release.
What are they prepping for isn't all old information and no trailer? and there are other reps from other countries. normally we would have seen something since it's a growing concern and not just withthe north american player base.Prolly to busy prepping things for E3, plus it was memorial day yesterday so that's why the reps on our end are quiet lol. Auto Translator Issues...
- Section named 'Location' should be named 'Positions'
- Each subsection is limited to 50 items (like places, etc) with the exception of inventory items. Once full no more terms can be added to that section. (This is why sometimes some terms like Gridiana show up and other times they don't).
- Doesn't properly handle terms with spaces when used as part of a command (see videos). And using the auto-translator right after a quote (") doesn't work since the quote (") is included when looking for a match (doh!)
Youtube Demonstration I made of the last issue.
