Let's take Monk's page for example. I go to the page, see a good deal of information stored there. But I see something's off or missing, so I click edit. Now, I cannot edit anything related to the general info section (Base Class, Guild Location, Weapons, etc). I can also not edit anything related to it's actions, gear, or job quests. So what if I wanted the article to not say that Monk's guild location is at the Platinum Mirage (which it's not, Jobs don't have "guilds"), I cannot edit it and have to wait for it to undergo a full design revamp by the higher ups. In addition to this, I also tried to edit the page when the ability icons were just stubs and found I could not even access that section of the page. So what I ended up doing was just giving up and being bitter.

As for the page width thing, it's really hard to write a comprehensive and easy to read gear guide using a similar format to the BST gear guide from FFXIclopedia when everything is sqeezed into 1000px width.

I know as I've tried to do both.

I feel like the switch from Eorzeapedia being very similar to FFXIclopedia at the time, to Eorzeapedia turning into GamerEscape was exactly like the way Facebook keeps updating its UI every 2 months. There's no reason for it, it makes things convoluted, and puts people off. Why fix something that isn't broken? Why make people jump through hoops to edit something simple on a page?
