These threads must give SE the biggest headache in the world. On one hand, you have people who after a day of or after a new fight (Ifrit, Moogle, Garuda) and beating it say "This fight is way to easy, I wish SE would give us something challenging", and then on the other hand you have people like the OP who says the fights are way to hard.
idk for me after killing ifrit for the 25th time (yes i only do 25 time killing ifrit and got atleast 5/7 items) is like walk in the park :P
I think the part of the problem may be we have two very different types of adventurers here... Those who enjoyed the traditional pre-sea ways of FFXI and are looking for similiar expereinces. And those who are WoWy people and are looking for the same experiences.These threads must give SE the biggest headache in the world. And both of those are diametrically opposed approaches.
Coupled with the instant-gratification-world we now live in, its very hard to come up with a solution that makes everyone happy. Except perhaps having two games. FFXIV-Wow and FFXIV-XI-2 ^.^;
Personally I would hope they would have two types of worlds:
World A -- FFXIV in hard Mode
World B -- FFXIV in easy Mode
You choose which you want to go, and all content is scaled accordingly. In easy mode, you can get 7/7 Iffy weapons after 20 fights. In hard mode, same as it is now ^.^;
Couldn't be bothered to respond to it all but I responded to some!It's rediculous. I mean, I'm a WHM. I cant possibly heal any faster, cant regen for any more than it already gives - You got enhancing magic poteny gear?
I cant possibly DD any better on my monk or warrior , unless I get a boss weapon - Got any materia'd gear?
which brings me to my point. WHY oh WHY does SE INSIST on making this game so rediculous? ONE minor, microscopic screwup, and it's a wipe - I don't know what game your playing but 1 person dying does not cause a wipe, its how the players react to it, with instant raise on WHM its np.
one person dies for five seconds, its a wipe. - Not if they can be raised within an extra 3 seconds.
The NMs in said battles (ifrit, Garuda, Moogle) do such insane damage its retarded - I've kept the PLD/WAR alive in Ifrit easily alone on WHM so I guess bad tank?
Its not like we have thousands upon thousands of HP. - That's 2,000 HP right? We got that!
The DMG is just way too high, and its ONLY LEVEL 50. - The damage is just right, get a better party, equipment or stragegy if the one your using does not work.![]()

if hard mode just means an abyssmally low drop rate, then nobody will choose hard modeI think the part of the problem may be we have two very different types of adventurers here... * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
Funny I've done Moogle fights where 6/8 people are dead and we still end up winning. I've done Ifrits where we pretty much fight him with 7 ppl alive and don't bother raising the 8th because they alone make the fight more difficult.It's rediculous. I mean, I'm a WHM. I cant possibly heal any faster, cant regen for any more than it already gives. I cant possibly DD any better on my monk or warrior, unless I get a boss weapon, which brings me to my point. I dont know what I could possibly do different, I do the best I can, yet every run I'm ever in is a wipe. It makes the game just not fun at all. They really need to tone it down in 2.0 at least, or they'll be losing another customer, which they are already losing alot as it is. To any person that replies with "hurr hurr suck less" or something equally stupid, I played XI for like six years and haven't had nearly as much difficulty THERE as I do HERE. I feel like I haven't progressed at ALL, and it just gets worse day after day. I want to play a game I can progress and grow in at a reasonable rate, not play a game i can wipe in the same fight day after day. It's just not fun. It just makes me want to quit MMOs all together, permanently.
So if that's not unforgiving enough then I don't know what is.
