A highly popular Puerto Rican YouTuber and philanthropist who suffers from common variable immune deficiency (CVID), an illness that leaves her confined to her room almost all the time because of her weak immune system. She gained prominence in the early 2020s and was at one point the most subscribed streamer on Twitch. She started playing Final Fantasy XIV after her friend Connor got into it.

I might be misremembering, but I vaguely recall seeing a clip a long ass time ago where she mentioned the game as being something she used to feel less lonely on holiday days like Christmas, because it allowed her to be 'with people' on such days. It's nice that MMOs can do such a thing for people in her position. And if I am remembering correctly, that would have been before she got big in the streaming space, which would mean she has been playing (anonymously/off-stream) in some capacity since like, the HW days, possibly even earlier

IIRC she said she was a Monk main, though I also have vague recollections of a more recent clip where she said she plays Sage, so it seems like it's always been 'in the background' of her life, she just doesn't put as many total hours into it (probably due to a combo of 'illness gets in the way sometimes' and 'lots of other projects in the works')

I don't see any real issue with her being there. I've only seen bits and moments of her so I can't speak to her fully but she seems like a pretty solid, talented person who does what she can to support some very important causes. And since she's only slotted in for being part of the music segment of the Fan Fest it seems like a decent enough fit. (And I'd much rather her be involved than any of the supposed "Real FF14 Content Creators" out there who are known names but do nothing but repeatedly crap on the game every chance they get)

I will say that I am concerned on what sort of in game content/context they'll include her in given that there is an implication of that as I'd rather she didn't really end up in game in any sort of main/unavoidable sense. But that's nothing to do with her personally and more to do with me not really wanting any known celebrity or personality to be part of FF14. It's not Fortnite after all. I'm already iffy enough on collaborations with other games but an actual person/personality is going beyond what I'm comfortable with.

Everyone seems to love the collaboration with Chrissy Costanza (Give It All, M4's theme) or Tom Morello (Everything Burns, M12's theme), I don't see how a similar situation (IE she sings for one specific song) with her would be much different for anyone besides the 'she is a VTuber I HATE VTubers' crowd
