That’s half true, and it hardly applies to the real context.
I often type “advises”. Always starting with “Just an advise, […]” and then u can say basically everything u want w/o being too oppressive or rude.
(Just an advise, don’t stand in the orange areas).
Like, one can play the way they want and their way to play must not be affected by how I play, and this applies for me as well.
If u play it wrong you are a burden, if I’m too rude I’m a burden.
SE knows that so u are free to use their ToS to shield yourself, irrc you can give advises in the proper manner.

One can report you, but hardly a GM will send you even an official warning for shit like that….and I stretched the line many times.

There are plenty other ways to phrase that, such as saying "Cure II is better once you learn it" or "You won't be running out of MP anytime soon".

Even if yours weren't meant to be an offence, only telling someone you shouldn't use XXX doesn't help the situation.

I always say hello and goodbye and I have done that always it is just polite but that's just how I feel. I do struggle because on PS5 and my wireless KB is not always on. I do like it when others say hello/goodbye and they are the ones I usually commend.

I did have a laugh in the new deep dungeon with some random players and one of them is now on my friends list because we had such a laugh together we died numerous times and yet we carried on and beat it but it was fun.

On the other hand I have been with others in there who do not speak until the shit hits the fan then they kick off. Overall though I do see some nice players

Actually, wait, I do have something to whine about. Why the hell do people join a PF with deliberately locked slots and then switch to the roles that were very much excluded on purpose, then complain when you yourself switch to the role setup originally intended? lmao

Brought to you by the person who really wanted to tank but got cold feet when I switched to a DPS, lol.

Midcore is when you take a look at an Ultimate, nod along sagely to a guide and decide to do it when you get 12 months of uninterrupted vacation, which is to say: never.

Can you direct me at the part of the TOS that specifically covers this? It's possible I missed something obvious, and I'm ready to agree if so. But otherwise it really looks like the usual same echo chamber coming from the "toxic positivity" community building up strawmen and repeating them enough until they think it's the truth. Call me prejudiced if you will.

That said, the best way to get people to chat is by memeing or asking random stuff like "Why does this dungeon have the best aesthetical design?" or "I wish more fights were mechanically like this". There's not much I can reply with or converse with when asked "How is everyone's day?" other than "It's good", "It's alright" "It sucks". They are kind gestures for sure and anyone that asks definitely means well, but for me personally it gets stale typing two words describing how I feel for the 6th time in 2 hours after several years of playing.

Sure, you could argue and ask "Why are you playing an MMO then?" but my answer is I'm playing because it's a Final Fantasy game and I love Final Fantasy games and this is a Final Fantasy game.

One other thing to possibly consider is there's a lot more console players/people playing on controller nowadays and they might not feel it's necessary to hit select multiple times just to say "Hi" and "gg" in every dungeon or trial.
I don't usually say more than hello and thanks. A lot of people still do, but less and less imo. And perhaps that's also due to me switching from NA to EU at the end of Stormblood, who knows. I'm not really trying to small talk either, I find small talk awkward and often boring.
I don't think that the game, especially not dungeons, are designed for people to interact more than this at the core since everything is scripted and macdonaldized.

Well I guess I don't come from the same online experiences than you at all

( and no I haven't played XI, but heard it's a very good candidate for this as well )

I don't think the content has much to do with it.
Chatting would exist in boring or exciting content.
I mean Eureka back then was full of it and spawning the bosses was far frome engaging to a point where the chatting WAS the charm point.

I also saw a shift tbh. Less hello's, insta pulling tanks without any concern for others or simply saying nothing.
The ToS has nothing to do with that because frankly, as long as you act as a decent human being, GM's won't go after you.

I think it's simply a matter of the community itself changing and experience bias.
Most people still do greet and say GG but the ones who don't stick more.
But also the community is far bigger than in the past (well the distant past) and less close knit.
Everyone seems to be in a rush, everything is on discord nowadays and the MMO social function is simply outdated.

I think times have simply changed. Everyone is in a hurry nowadays in-game as well as outside.
I hate that trend but I don't think we can change it other than simply continuing to say "hello" and so on.

Nobody has to say anything in a dungeon if they don't want to.

    That player:

Probably had a rough day and doesn't wanna talk to anyone.

    Or

Is antisocial that they simply wanna play the game, but not interact with anyone.

During my wow days we had this woman in our Guild who was extremely quiet and mostly had her husband speak on her behalf and anytime you try to talk to her she would get annoyed and I'm sure some players act the same way.

At the end of the day, some people just hate interacting with others and you shouldn't always expect someone to say hi or bye In a dungeon because you don't know that player or if they're going through something and just don't wanna talk.

Its this. Normal content was never that chatty but it was more than today. People used to ask WAR to tank Diabolos Hollow first because of the auto crits for example. BLM shenanigans, DRG floor tanking, aggro stuff, TP/MP, ive thanked ASTs for Arrow cards.

Whats there to chat about other than some gotcha mechanics anymore.

True. I don't even know when I saw the last "Filthy casuals in my Savage" Thread.

However I have seen plenty of "Solo Duty on Very easy or dungeon is impossible, it's not cuz I am bad at doing things, improvement is impossible!"
    Threads each patch.
Inside those threads then may lie the "casual hatred" which often boils down to
"No its not impossible", "do the mechanics, you should know them all from dungeons etc before", and similar things.

Plus I wouldn't call demanding a base knowledge of what you do as "casual hate".
Like how I was on WAR in a DT Dungeon and told a Cure I spamming WHM to stop healing me when he only uses Cure I to do so and instead use that wasted MP on attacking.

Could I have been more polite in that moment? Absolutely.
Would I be though? No, if you spam Cure I in content of lv.90+, 80+ etc. you shouldn't be allowed to queue imo.
