I mean, not really; for every store hairstyle, you've got many more options you can earn in-game. The current most popular hairstyle climbs up to 30M+ in marketboards in several regions and it's from Chaotic. It is also a hairstyle that has a higher amount of bones in its skeleton which gives it smoother movement, has added accessories, etc. They went the extra mile for a hairstyle that is not only a design contest winner, but also made it tradeable so anyone can get it (provided they can pay the gil)
NPC clothes are a mix of the odd custom model such as Y'shtola's (very rare), while the rest either simply have the appropriate job AF or a slight recolor of existing gear you can obtain in-game. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder obviously, but I wouldn't necessarily be up in arms to get NPC clothes for free of all things. Many of the exclusive store sets are very very nice, though. I'd love to be able to get the Dirndl attire for free by grinding some content.

No, it isn't. There are plenty of legitimate criticisms one could have of the cash shop, such as most cosmetic items not being account wide, but claiming that "everything is in the cash shop" is demonstrably false.

Which hairstyles are "cute" is entirely subjective, and there are waaaaaaaaaay more hairstyles obtainable in-game than in the cash shop.

This part is true, but that's not what you said originally. You said "all nice clothes" go in the cash shop. All the glams in the cash shop combined are a drop in the bucket compared to literally all the other gear in the game, and which glams are "nice" is again entirely subjective.

Cute hairs? There are literally 11 available hairs on the mogstation, compared to the well over 100 in game.
It will also seem that emotes with VFX are mogstation only, which is not the case. There are PLENTY, they all just require some sort of grind or work. Or gil. Plus remember that a lot of the VFX emotes are from past events that end up on the mogstation so.

I think you give them too much credit here - the hairstyle is very good but it's hardly a 'going extra mile' situation. It's only expensive because it's from unique duty and I hardly doubt they counted that in when deciding it's treadable (majority of in-game hairstyles are), it doesn't have highlights nor they utilize highlighs as the ribbon or flowetr coloring WHICH would be closer to 'going extra mile'.

But yea if it comes to hairstyles, the best ones are actually obtainable in game

It's only expensive because it's from unique duty and I hardly doubt they counted that in when deciding it's treadable (majority of in-game hairstyles are), it doesn't have highlights nor they utilize highlighs as the ribbon or flowetr coloring WHICH would be closer to 'going extra mile'.

It is the extra mile to me considering most hairstyles use the same 3-4 hair skeletons and/or amount of bones we've had since ARR. This gives it a very smooth movement that others don't have, and I say this as someone who doesn't even like the hairstyle that much (too many accessories for my taste, not a fan of the bangs). But that's simply my opinion as someone who appreciates them adding those details to new hairstyles. It matters to me so I think it's worth mentioning.

I've looked on Google but not in-game since I don't own it, does it really have no highlights or are they just too subtle for your taste?
I agree making a version that affects the color of the ribbon with the highlights would have been very good, specially since you can change that anytime you want with the aesthetician. I would have much preferred a version without the flowers and pearls, just keep the ribbon and brooch, and would gladly farm/pay the gil for it.

Back in the days this was a wrong thing but more and more we lean towards future where "it's normal, its just cosmetic, it doesn't affect you". Same replies, same excuses every single time someone tries to speak about this problem.

Devs won't stop with it because they know that whales and others will just sip their wallet into it.

tbh everything was lost when players accepted the first horse armor sales for a while now :v

Cosmetics are part of the gameplay too. People farm raids, trials and even ultimates just for cosmetics. Cosmetic items feel more important than stats items nowadays, and a huge chunk of them permanently locked behind paywall, leaving them forever inaccessible for a lot of people.

I was looking at the shop last night to decorate my house to a Halloween theme. I have some old decorations from previous events.

They're 5$ a pop on the Mogshop, and some of them (like the paw prints) you kinda use multiples of.
Add the fact that you cannot get last year's stuff save for the online shop (and the market board of course) is enough to put a damper on things and simply close my wallet. My only takeaway is to squirrel the yearly rewards if I like them, because the pricing is outrageous on top of digital rent.

Yeah, those housing items are way too expensive. I could accept them if I could buy them once and then obtain as many replicas as I need. But you won't see me buy a dozen chairs for $5 each lol.
