Because despite his comments about a “BLM in armor,” mentioned when EW did that TWICE for tome gear, they have unlocked class restrictions for old gear before. We have gear up to about level 60 or so that was originally restricted and is now either “All Classes” or “Disciples of War or Magic,” with a very small amount of things being one or the other DOW and DOM. They have done it before, and they should start doing it regularly, sun setting the restrictions every time a new expansion comes out, so that only the current expansion gear is restricted.
If that happens, I hope they at least do a dye channel pass on some of it, because a lot of it can't be dyed or dyes very poorly. The low res/plastic-y textures are another issue with a lot of old gear, but a basic upscaling pass might make them look even worse.
