8.0 would be the perfect time to Revamp the Glamour system.

I agree, and I generally try to dress appropriately for each job, but we also can't deny that the majority of players are just dressed in random modern gearn these days. The only way you can tell their job is when they take their weapon out at this point :')


So if YoshiP actually wanted to enforce people looking like their jobs, he'd have to go back to when we didn't have all of these glam options and severely restrict the roles on many of the surviving sets. Of course, nobody wants that... so I hope gear becomes less restrictive over time.

What it would do is if toggled on, it'd just show player's gear without glamour for the player in question, it would be turned off by default to show people's glamours and fashions, so the player would strictly have to use that functionality.

Idk what's the appeal of 'show true gear' when BiS specifically wants you to mix match gears from different sets, and the main appeal of glamouring is to be seen the way you want it. Kinda defeats the purpose of the system itself.

If it's to hide players, they're far better to implement "Show Party, FC, and Friends" button so they can hide everybody else that doesn't count. Other MMO has this function to help load time for low-end PC players, IDK why this 14 years old game doesn't have one.

bruh, just double glamour played amount and remove class restrictions. It is kinda annoying that l got to do it with item model swapper myself

I believe this was discussed before, either earlier in this thread or in another one of the same topic! The main issue is that our gear is absolutely hideous under the glamour, specially if you're raiding and you have to mix and match from different sets for the best stats. I think a good middle ground would be to default them into their job's AF instead when that feature is enabled!

I like and support this idea of having a toggle to show AF only. It’s a nice balance and would offer performance improvements on older systems.
