I talked about EU, because the previous posters here are apparently from EU and talking about "wintrading discords". I played both datacenter towards the end - I can't remember any games with blatant obvious wintrading, the kind of stuff that happened on NA on high tiers.

We had this guy in season 10 who ranked 5, he got banned, but sadly the chain of communication wasn't good, so GM's send him the rewards, then he got removed from leaderboard. He is still proudly wearing his set today, no shame. Place 101 got their rewards too, which was good at least.

Sure good PvP players exist, that can make it look like they underperform intentionally or not. It will be incredible hard to crack that down, cause if I would wintrade, you would never be able to tell. One delayed heal by 0,2s is all it took for someone to die instead of live. But for other good PvP players, that would have been too easy to notice, if it happens too often at once. I think some took screenshots of every match scoreboard, they could have checked if there is a pattern of losing.

Boosting alts or different accounts was another thing. There was the wolf incident, a player putting 10 characters in top100. Maybe on individual account, so he could sell them, idk. If it were just alts, then SE could have thought about a better reward system, so it wasn't required to bring alts into top100. But bringing alts into top100 was perfectly normal. I played on Chaos too after Light matches were too bad. So sorry for stealing an armor set, which I didn't really needed, but I just wanted to have good games. Like why no opt out? I feel sad for place 101-110. etc.

I don't think they ever said "they stop it". Just after 100 reports GM's felt like "maybe there is something to it". I reported a top10 melee for speedhacking in Feast, some weeks later he got banned for dingdong.... harassment...They had all the video evidence and they apparently didn't think it was good enough. Something was or is wrong with enforcing these anti hacking rules. Or they wanted to give him a lenient sentence, who knows.

I think wintrading on EU was in the single digit % of leaderboard, if not less. Insignificant overall to call 99% on it a cheater or wintrader by default. The first team seasons were maybe more affected. But most of the people here weren't even around back then. And they do not care for any other reward than the shadowstalker armor. So they try to discredit that very late season only.

Ironically the only PF on EU that I know and that became meme material was this one.

Achievement hunter and collector, trying to game the system. The very same people that are screaming now the loudest. They quickly stopped trying after being reported.
So forgive me if I ridicule these constant accusations of "PvP = all cheater" sheep in wolfs clothing style, that pretend like they care/cared about PvP ranked. They often hate every aspect of PvP. They do not think about what it means re-releasing these items to the mode itself. Why would they? They couldn't be bothered less what happens after they got it.
