I'm genuinely confused about what people are finding difficult about this dungeon compared to other dungeons. I've seen a lot of people say they found it hard because it was "too fast," but what was too fast? Like what mechanic specifically was tripping you up? And how many times did you try it before giving up? I ask this without judgment, I just want to understand that perspective.

Edit: Also were you playing with Trusts or other players? Or did you try both, and if so how did the experience differ?

I think it's called "Serial Torture" and it's the blades -> giant spiked balls x3 -> blades from the other direction sequence.

I kept moving to the safe spot for the blades and forgetting that the spiked balls need to drop FIRST. moving out of the path of the second set of blades would get me splatted by the balls.

I went through as healer the first time, expecting to be able to learn from the Duty Support NPCs, but since each role gets a slightly different set of mechanics.... that didn't help. Healer has to deal with a unique Doom at some point, though.

I can prove that level 100 means nothing. I have a level 100 Reaper, but because I haven't played in months, I couldn't even tell you the name of a single skill. Sure, it won't take me long to get back to a basic rotation, but if I had to do the new dungeons right now, I'd be pressing random buttons and hoping for the best.

Also, no need to be nasty, try being kind for a change.

But that's not a gameplay issue, is it? (genuinely asking).
I came back a week earlier after an 8 month break because I knew I was under-geared and pretty rusty. Got to i740 before patch, and had refreshed enough to finish the msq and get back on savage.
I am nowhere near my previous level, but I was fully conscious that I was not going to do great if I re-subbed on patch day.

Coming back from long break and being able to clear the content in one try would actually be concerning.

This is level 100 content. Its assumed by this point you've built up some spice tolerance to normal difficulty dungeons.

Thank you for sharing! It sounds like you identified what you were doing wrong and how to correct it, so do you mind if I ask what got in the way of putting that knowledge into action and dodging correctly on a following attempt? Additionally, since you were on a healer did you try pre-shielding yourself for the mechanic and/or having a heal ready so that you would have more wiggle room for mistakes?

It didn't seem harder or easier than most others.
I think some people confuse "mechanics" with "Difficulty."

First run through on healer, got it on the third try.

First run through on DPS I was struggling mightily - and realized the timing issue only for a friend go to, "hey you wanna do some maps?" Since I was in with the Trusts I abandoned and went back out.

Bout to try it again with the Trusts. Once I'm convinced I won't immediately die during that mechanic, I'll give Expert roulette a whirl again.

I went on a hiatus for almost 5 months due to how awfully empty 7.2 was, OC not being interesting enough to make me resub and resubbed the day the 7.3 patch dropped.
I played the dungeon on a job that wasn't one of my main dps jobs and cleared the boss on the second try.

And no, I am done being kind to someone who makes asinine comparisons, uses strawman tactics to ignore my points and thinks lack of basic knowledge about the game at level cap is acceptable and demands compassion for that.
