The second boss does have a different mechanic for each role. Spoiler:

Tank has to interject a cast, healer has to esuna a doom, and DPS get an add to kill (the add is what produces the fire floor).

we are pretty much in a dead end regarding mechanics. they did a good job for quite some time putting the same mechanics together differently with different visuals again again and again. but we're hitting a wall. faster was the one direction they could have gone. and it works for me. i was tired of it and it refreshed it for me for now.

but i can see its too much for some people. we need a different kind of mechanics. mechanics which dont need more speed to get more engaging.

but i dont trust yoshida to do that tbh

I also really have enjoyed 7.3 so far!

I just completed the story Trial this morning along with the dungeon. Due to work I still need to wrap up the MSQ tonight and probably unlock the 24 man this weekend.

I found the writing to be much better along with the scene direction. I personally enjoy the cast as I love Sphene and all my favorite Scions were here. I could of course do without any Wuk Lamat or the child, but overall their presence was fine to me. I even brought Wuk Lamat with me in the dungeon, since I felt she was a much better a character in 7.3 who didn't annoy me, and it made sense for the story. Normally I avoided her at all costs until 7.3. Learning the fate of Krile's parents was really nice, if sad. I am happy with the dialogue option I had chosen for it.

The MSQ had some emotional moments and I even found the dungeon emotional in how we were battling the memories of people who lived that were not necessarily evil - I could feel a bit of what Sphene was probably feeling in the dungeon. The after-trial cutscene was also really great. The Scions appeared useful and competent, Sphene & Wuk Lamat got key moments to shine as story leads but ultimately the WoL alone stood tall and stood above the entire cast as I like and as I feel is earned given our role in this epic tale.

I appreciated the efforts to add puzzles and also better directed cutscenes were people do more than stand motionless. The dungeon mechanics were also fun my first time and it also took me a few tries to understand what was happening during Boss 2 (I didn't realize we have to kill the heater thing for a few tries).

I feel we are going in a better direction after my great disappointment with 7.0 and indifference towards 7.1.

I liked it. It was a good story. Not at the level of 5.3 but entertaining even if predictable.
The dungeon was fun, the trial was nice and I enjoyed that we gave Calyx PTSD.
His plan was solid and probably could have worked if he had thought of the power of friendship I guess.

You can tell that they reacted to feedback.
The riddles with the keycards was reaction to the missing gameplay till now and I really enjoyed it. Please more of it.
Wuk Lamat took a huge step back finally and it's pretty clear that even the writers and Yoshida have learned that their little creators pet is not as liked as they hoped for. I won't miss her.

What I really want to give positive feedback is the small details in cutscenes. The blood from Wuk Lamat, the sweat on Calyx face and the way the robots "engaged" with Geode. Small details the animation team truly deserves credit for.
The whole scene with the later was handled incredibly good.

There are two things though I have to criticize.
Koana has been reduced to a pure comedy siscon. A huge shame as he was a character with potential.
The other is the handling from the devs of the things around it all.
Why go to such extreme lengths with "no spoilers", even making a boring trailer when there was no need for it?

All in all a good story. I enjoyed it and it shows that the dwindling playernumbers and endless chewing out of the story did have effect.
I look more hopeful to the future now, especially now that we are finally done with the DT area and it's cast (minus Sphene, who was good).

SPOILERS: Am I missing something or was it just really weird how Wuk Lamat got knocked out for weeks over essentially hitting a wall over and over? Felt like they were trying to have her get one last moment in the spotlight but it fell super flat for me. Well, more than flat, it was confusing and unnecessary, lik immature writers forcing tropes.

It's less "Giving her one last moment in the spotlight" and more an apology for the "SPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!" moment. What it really was, was an attempt to "make up" for her barging into Interphos and ruining that moment for us. That's why, she bounces off it, gets hurt, and slumps over, letting us be the one who gets the Big Damn Heroes moment and breaks through this time.

I'm fine with that, but having her go into a coma was a bit overdramatic... And nothing came of that either aside from not having her in like two cutscenes.

Well, I'm glad it worked for you. BLM got lobotomized for it, but that's alright I guess...
Not angry at you, only the devs.

Part of me thinks that's Koana overblowing it with his silly siscon crap.
