i also liked it quite a lot.
wasnt a fan of several wuk lamat as well as gulool ja scenes. but thats just traumatic nitpicking. they handled them mostly pretty good in this patch overall. i even like gulool ja's conclusion to learn the sword.
and i dont like

that calyx still exists. i enjoyed him these patches but thats it.
also can we keep shale and sphene pls?

without fun jobs none of the content is fun

I actually had sorta expected it. What I was NOT expecting tho, was the massive implications that it brought. If you pick up on the irl mythological connections, this whole thing with Calyx, Ascians, "winterers" is all very big especially with what we know about the Ancients
I expect it's the groundwork for that "season 2" overarching storyline that DT was suppose to be the start of.

I look just like the roes next door... if you happen to live next door to an amusement park.
All in all I'd rate this patch strong 7.5 it gave Resident Evil style vibes throughout the start of it all the way to the pre dungeon scene which I enjoyed. The scene after the trial using job specific animation was nice (Ninja run go!). All in all, I'm happy to say goodbye to Dawntrail which I gave a 7/10 after first playing it. Looking forward to where we head from here.

I loved the story, really enjoyed the Dawntrail ending !
The dungeons and trials were such a pleasant surprise for me! I felt like they struck a balance that seemed iffy in the earlier DT dungeons. Harder mechs with creative patterns/telegraphs. Difficult but not super punishing. The second boss especially was fun! I only have a slight concern regarding the first boss (and one of the bosses in the new alliance raid) accessibility wise, considering it made me dizzy and I am not one who usually does. Still, love it, excited to replay them.
7.3 story? Peak. I loved it. Sure, I can nitpick some small moments, but it was great! The reveal at the end made me so excited. I'm someone who personally loves that direction, and I think there's still plenty of loose ends that gives them great creative room with that choice of direction. I love the cutscenes as well! Someone mentioned they might be working with depth and new lighting and you can really tell. The graphics shone this time around and I love the animating they did. A lot less stock emotes, which is very appreciated. Overall, I'm satisfied and excited to see where the story is going to lead. Rough start in DT but that's to be expected. Made it up to me in the end. Oh, also:
Loved the detail where Calyx mentions that the endless Sphene knew he was watching her, she just didn't know who he was. This completely recontextualizes all the scenes where she tries to pull Wuk Lamat and us aside, but gets terrified seeing the soldiers. It also makes more sense. Because Zoraal Ja didn't really care to use those soldiers for spying, and he also really didn't care about Sphene trying to work together with Wuk Lamat. He believed in might over everything else so he had no doubt he would win, plus she always confronted him directly. So it didn't line up at the time. But now it's an ohhhhh moment, since we know Calyx regularly uses the soldiers for spying and he would be the one most upset if she managed to figure out a different way to fulfill her goal, somehow.
I've kinda hated this entire storyline, but I do enjoy the dungeons, raids, etc. 7.3 is no different for me, and I was hopeful Wuk Lamat was going to get killed off, but that's where my only disappointment was here. I like that the dungeon is challenging enough, as healer the second boss can be disastrous but it's fun.
Second alliance raid - all I can say is 'brutally fun'. Certainly a challenge the first week or two of course, and it will get easier as we continue. I was personally irked with crafting as I just pentamelded my heart, and now I have more to make, lol. Such is life.
The dungeon was great, the trial was fantastic, the alliance raid is amazing.
The ending of the story was very stupid but also very cool and spectacular, which adds up to good. I give it a game reviewer 7/10

I liked it fairly well, I wanted Ascians and I'm happy w/ that because I expected them anyway. Not interested in resubbing after my sub expires since I feel like a good break until at least 7.5 is needed, but not disappointed overall.
The second boss does have a different mechanic for each role. Spoiler:
Tank has to interject a cast, healer has to esuna a doom, and DPS get an add to kill (the add is what produces the fire floor).
