The Worst Patch Trailer in FF History?

Having to hear Wuk's VA yet again ruined the trailer for most everyone, anyway.
It's a patch that wraps up a story no one cares about anymore that's going to have a character that near everyone hates just talking endlessly over the top of you and interjecting themselves every single line yet again.

Really, really sounds like a fantastic patch.
7.2 was considered a step in the right direction due to not having Wuk on top of you endlessly.
Not sure this trailer could get any more tone deaf.

I'm not a fan of wuk either, but maybe you should just touch some grass or take a break. I never cared much about the story but I'm somewhat interested in seing what happens with that child guy. Others probably aswell

Forreal, it's been over a year, time to take a break if there's still such a visceral hatred for a character that isn't really all that different or worse than the usual shounen anime protagonist.

I did not watch it, and probably won't.

I finished the msq up to where this patch will be the content I do when I log in tomorrow. I tried watching a few cutscenes but I got to a part where Koana was ready to uh well, I will notnspoil it, but back to skipping every single cutscene again.

My point is not to bash the dev team, or anyone really, but I can tell them in sincerity, the story has been so badI literally do not care for the trailers or the characters on a scale I have not even been on in the entirety of this game's existence.

And there have been some low lows over the years.

I enjoy the game, I am pumped for the "side stuff", but 8.0 (no more dawntrail please) cannot come fast enough. Please let the criticisms be heard and understood by your team.

Aside from my disengagement with pretty much every single character you surround the Warrior of Light with, such as the scions (Estinien is good. Estinien can stay), the current expansion "crew", except little lizard guy.. I enjoy pretty much everything else enough that I continue to play the game, and I continue to tell people I come across who play games about this critically acclaimed game. And several have picked it up and play it now.

Back to the "trailer" stuff.. I have seen some not all of them ovver the years and never felt they were good so, I have skipped this trailer because nothing they are going to put in it is of any interest at all. There is no character they are capable of producing that will interest me. None of the already introduced characters interest me. Well thats enough of me rambling.

I feel like the story seems all good with interesting things going on. Because clearly they are able to produce all these things going on like Sphene finding purpose and wanting to lead these future Alexandrians, and learning about this new threat.

But I think it doesn't resonate with people much, including myself, for one simple reason. It's Cyberpunk (extreme technology) being aimed at players interested in fantasy games. You just look at it and see all this technology and it's so off-putting. Then it's compounded by Star Trek, the final frontier.

I'm trying my best to appreciate it. Because if every expansion had the same theme, it would get boring. I did this with Stormblood, where I wasn't really into the Japanese aesthetic, but I tried my best to embrace it because the alternative is every expansion has the same theme.

But every time I see this theme I'm reminded of how an amazing lore from FF9 was sickeningly assimilated by the Borg and it's just not really my thing.

I'm not really bothered by that aspect. I look at the Ninth like a possible what-if version where Terra fused with Gaia. So the advanced technology makes sense to me when I think of it like that.

To be fair to the devs,it is pretty hard to make something cool to look forward to from 10 quests an trial and a dungeon. Sprinkle in some side content that will be done in less than a day. While the more interesting content will come in a few months time.

Though it's already been said, the fact that they've opted to keep probably-Necron the Trial boss secret lessened the hype that the trailer could have otherwise tried to generate.

Maybe for you all its just that you're not excited for more dawntrail so this doesn't look great.

This is exactly the reason for me. Also, after the letdown that was DT, it'll take something truly special to get me hyped again.
Especially since I didn't play any other FF games, so jingling any memberberries won't work on me.
