TBH it's just an unhealthy obsession at this point. It was already weird in the beginning of DT, but now it's just trying to rekindle a hatred for a character you only see once every 5 months.

I think it's fear that the blackhole of vitriol that Wuk Lamat is will remain after this expansion. It's something like that for me, anyway.

It's pretty useful for me, it's a red flag or Litmus test to see how joyless and hateful a player in FFXIV can be.

Yeah, some of the responses I'm getting are clearly from people who are either unaware or unwilling to admit they have an unhealthy amount of investment in this game's story. Think I'll just stop engaging, since nothing good can come from continuing. I will just stick to discussing gameplay mechanics.

I'm neither joyless NOR hateful. I myself am part of the LGBTQ community, specifically the "T", so miss me with the "transphobe" stuff. And Hildibrand is some of my favorite content in the game, so I think my funny bone is still intact.

Just so happens I dislike the MC that the entire plot of the expansion revolves around, to an extent never seen before with any other character. I'd feel the same no matter who played them considering how annoying this character is. Again, miss me with the "Sena hate" allegations. I find it interesting that the best work Sena ever did as Llama Tea was a shitpost on X about cilantro, which was legitimately funny in a way Wuk never was in game. Wuk is the worst aspects of comedy relief and shonen protagonist rolled into one.

As it stands, I'd be willing to accept this as her Final Ride, like all other City Leaders, but if they insist on shoving her into the Scions (as I suspect they do) then I will have lost what little faith I had left in this team.

I really don't see this happening. She's not only one of the two pillars of leadership but her father had to pretend one of those pillars was still alive and just sleeping before she and her brother ascended to the position. Not having a Vow of Resolve is not really an option in Tuliyollal. Their entire culture is based on leadership possessing both strength and wisdom.

Sena absolutely deserves better. She was thrilled to happy tears to get the role only for the writing and voice direction to lack for what should've been a breakout character. You know she was told the same gassed up opinion on Wuk Lamat we heard in previews and did what she could with the material.

Exactly this. The hype was over ever since they saw Wuk Lamat and graphical issues. Mind you those graphical issues are still present and there are threads here with 300+ pages about why Miqote eyebrows, Hyur bags under eyes and a lot more aren't fixed.

Just checking steam page and seeing "Mostly Negative" says it all. It was mixed at the beginning and now fell down even worse.

It's ok, you can be hateful, joyless and part of the LGBTQ community all at the same time. Watching people trying to revive hate-threads where they dunk on her, want to do violence on her, wishing a 2.0 redo of DT just to do the story without her, is just a sick obsession at this point. Just go do something you enjoy, this isn't healthy.
