I'm actually glad that all the people who cried about 1500 tomes get to suffer now. They got what they asked for. Mindless useless long grinds for a weapon that isnt even worth using.

I'm glad too. This is exactly what we asked for! The weapon is also just a glamour or achievement thing, really. And it is best at the tail end of the expansion or for alt jobs.

Being this grindy for the first step is just way overkill.

They typically nerf the first step quite early on. Actually in a few ways. As more steps happen, they nerf some of the earlier ones. They nerf them way more after the expansion is over, as time goes on, as well.
