First of all, how do you know the exact number? Second, it's definitely understandable with ff16 since it's another cbu3 baby, but forspoken is done by different department and have been in development long enough. Third, you're assuming that ff14 doesn't receive external resources (manpower and/or finance) from other titles as well.

Also, I don't really remember where I read the report, but it's actually Squeenix mobil game titles that create the biggest revenue. Sure, ff14 maybe profitable, but the cost to maintain server itself is pretty high.

Again, you can't really compare mobile single player gacha game with MMORPG. And frankly, I don't really but that quality alone is the reason people open their wallet. Gacha game relies on creating appealing (design wise) new charactes, power creep, FOMO, amd most importantly, gambling addiction for people to spend money.
