I have to agree with this one, and I'm actually seeing it slowly but surely in Hyperion. I can't speak for Gridania, but Limsa Lominsa is gaining more and more people back by the hour thanks to the new MW improvements. You can all leave Ul'dah now for Chrissakes.

On that note and a little sidebar, I was able to grab most of my lvl.25 gear for pretty darn cheap by fishing around the different market houses.

Although the game is running on top of the range servers its being limited by crappy coding, just imagine a top range gaming PC trying to play FFXIV on a Windows 98 OS, the hardware is no limit its the coding thats doing this.

In order for us all to spread out, which by the way would benefit everyone, - was never in disagreement, only pointing out that people clearly like Ul'dah, this is a known fact, should be countermeasures already in place for this - we need some sort of 'Global' chat, or actual search function, or mandatory 'seeking' system for groups (yes, like in XI q.q). The reason people gather in one zone is so that they don't miss out on possible grouping opportunities. At least, that's why i go there, I much prefer the feel of Limsa. =)

...except that SE has said the hardware IS one of the problems. Hence, it's being replaced for 2.0.

Global channel may be a good idea but it also puts more stress on the servers, in 1.xx that isn't gonna happen, even with it I bet people will still gather in Uldah

The hardware isn't the biggest problem right now because they ARE using the newer 2.0 hardware for some of the world servers, the coding is the limit read the earlier post and the Dev post by Yoshi.
