Why so many 18+ related player events in the party finders

That ERP happens is not the problem. The problem is that it happens publicly in front of everyones noses. Keep it a secret and its fine. I hope that at some point SE lets the ban hammer down. They want to take measures against the stalker plogon, right? Wonder how they find the dude? They cant stop it. Also there will just be more malicious tools in the future with such lax safety measures, oh wait no safety measures AT ALL lmao.

The thing is, SE will never actively crack down on third-party tools. They’ll maintain their stance against them, sure, but they’ll never go all-in, because there’s zero financial incentive to do so.

• Players extracting more fun from the base game? QoL fixes? Hats? Network improvements?
  ⇒ Let them do it for free, lol.
  
• New animations for jobs?
  ⇒ LMAO, let the players make them. We don’t even need to pay licensing fees for potential crossovers.
  
• New gear?
  ⇒ Sure, throw them a couple of new pieces with fancy effects, then rehash old sets so they have placeholders for their own creations.
  
• Customization options?
  ⇒ KEKW. Have you seen the insane stuff players already mod in?

Yoshi-P will step up a few times a year, scold the player base, ban a few who got caught, and then business as usual.

If they could backpedal and implement an official API to support plugins, they absolutely would, but XIV is multiplatform, so they can’t.

The whole blacklist disaster is on SE.
Why on earth would they send the account ID to the client instead of actually implementing a functional server-side blacklist that works both ways?

There're sooooooo many people who just pay a subscription fee to log in and ERP all day. Like, if your question is genuine, you have no idea how many people legit just use this game as a sexting platform. It's nuts. The actual game gets new content every four months at a drip feed and the story's declined substantially, so all that's left is to load up some dirty dances and shake your ass on some twitch DJ's floor. Why these people don't just unsub and go to VR chat or Second Life, is beyond me.

Shout out to Square though, for looking the other way as usual so long as it brings them sub money. Sub money from subs, haha. Get it? It's funny because there are barely any doms in XIV. Anyway, you can ignore this stuff really easily. Just don't click the "other" tab in pf and disable shout chat since it was never good to begin with. I played on balmung and never had to see any of that crap unless I went out of my way to see it and even then I was only seeing the surface side of things if you catch my drift.

The front facing part of the community is not ERP. You might be noticing it cause you're annoyed by it but I'd hardly say that's the MOST prominent part of the community. The playerbase total has increased so more people are doing MORE of everything.

There is no optimization discussion outside of very small corners for certain fights because 2 minute meta killed pretty much all optimization discussions. Once the initial rotation numbers are crunched, that's it.

The culture is different because there are more people affecting it. I'm not claiming it's exactly the same, I never claimed that. I SAID that the parts of the game you seem to be bemoaning STILL exists. The ERP/RP/Nightclub stuff STILL exists too. It all has been existent in this game for a long long long ass time. Just cause you see more nightclub ads cause there's more people so more nightclubs doesn't mean the ENTIRE GAME CULTURE has shifted into only ERP.

well if this is the game actually, why the game is still 13+ ?

i know that the rating for games aren't rating player communication but this is definitely not a game for under 18+ years old
if you can see in a general public area announces of those, well, has a parent, i would never allow my children to play this game what so ever, and if they buy it before i knew about this and discover, id delete myself there accounts

This is how ALL online games work. The game content is correctly rated, player-generated content is not. A lot of events say 18+ but only because they don't want to deal with kids, it doesn't mean they're doing any nasty or sexual stuff.


You're welcome to educate your kids to not attend these events, and, in fact, they will always remove kids from those events if they find out. Instead of sheltering your child take this as an opportunity to teach them how to behave in public. If you just want to raise an iPad kid without interactions have them play another game that isn't online.

this thread is funny like if all plugin user are bad yes some are but most people I interact with are ok with the fact I am not using those and never did they don't force shit on me. yes I don't encourage them at all but if someone isn't forcing anything on you. you should leave them alone if they are hostile to you because you don't use those then you should report.


after all more then half the NA servers use those so it would be a major drop

While I don't think all users of the plugins are bad either, I have seen the effect over time of them change how the entire social landscape I've known for years works as the plugins allow for a more... intense... experience, be it clothing or animation.
An exponential increase in degeneracy as well as an actual dependence of plugins to the level of "I'd quit if mods got taken away" being quite a common thing to see a person say, a club discord that has both SFW and NSFW gallery's you'll generally see interaction in reaction be extremely slim in SFW and rather high in NSFW.

I completely stopped going to venues as a result of this and just dialled up my content focus, now I have no content that I enjoy left until 7.2
