It would be cool to see if each job has a tank, healer, DPS spec. I’d love to tank as a NIN again like in FFXI. And “tanking” as a RDM/NIN was fun, too with evasion tanking the summon Avatars.

I think the new encounter design is already here (last dungeon + last alliance raid/chaotic raid), I dont think M5s-M8s will be that much different but we'll seeWhile my faith in Square Enix in regard to job design is greatly diminished, personally I am waiting for 7.2. This is where the new style of combat instances is supposed to come, and those could offer us a glimpse of what Square Enix has planned. Fight design and class design are inherently building atop each other, after all.
Can't say I see that currently, if I am honest. Though some of the current encounters do seem to take a less safe and established road, and some mechanics we have encountered may be a test bed for mechanics of the future. We shall see in a couple of months.

I think so yeah, from my understanding they want to implement more "react & adjust" mechanics instead of the usual "know the dance" mechanics
But I guess we'll have to wait for harder content (7.3 ultimate, 7.2 & 7.4 savage tier) to see how far they can go
Sadly for the PVP part, to me it feels like the PVE job team took over in 7.1 and made the skills more like in PVE. A lot of jobs suddenly got "use X ability, then you can use Y ability" as we're also seeing in 7.0 PVE.I think that if the pvp team that is way smaller can do it in one expansion, so can the pve team, and even if the task is far more daunting, so is their team's size.
But where my expectations actually lie are close to zero, or even the negatives. I'm actually scared they'd go for a full double down on everything that I've hated with their changes over the years, because every time we are unhappy with something, they choose instead to nuke the good stuff and continue down the path of the bad.
Jobs like DRK got a combo chain behind it and a followup on LB, or RDM.
Overall also feels a lot more burst-focused than before.
