Because the fishing in XIV is one of the most shallow implementations of fishing in a video game, designed exclusively to waste the player's time with multiple layers of RNG and strict catch windows?

100% will be Bozja with some random added difficulty no one will enjoy. Don't forget the Savage raid at the end.It definitely just looks like Bozja 2.0. Maybe it will be less convaluted, lol.
I actually liked the last relic grind. I know loads hated it, but I liked having a use for my unlocked tomestones. Plus, the two before it were attached to thouse horrid zones, so it was nice not to have to worry about it.
I will never complete Feast of Famine. It will be the one quest that will forever stay in my journal.
I don't like fishing enough to deal with fish spawn windows.
I would argue that fishing isn't PvE as much as PvRNG.
When I say it, I always say:
"Nothing 'interesting' to do."
There is always some grindy achievment we could hunt.
But most of the time it is very boring and brings no fun to do so.
I play for fun. Not to kill time. :/

Nah. I've been seeing this for years, especially back in Heavensward. What people mean is that the special type of content they like to waste their time on isn't available. So there is "no content". I bet if the exploratory zone that so many say will fix everything launches and there's someone who doesn't like that content that comes here with the same complaint, those people will argue that there is content and it's the person's fault if they don't do it.
Fact is that new content is nice but this game has never had new content constantly churning out. People either just paced themselves, were limited by time they could spend, or took breaks in the past if they consumed it all like a content piranha and couldn't find new goals in the other content that was available that they had not interacted with. The more players limit themselves in a theme park MMO, the less they're going to find that they have to do.
I think one thing that doesn't come up nearly often enough is the trade off between giving newer players time and space to work their way through older expacs, versus giving those who are already at the current end-game something to do. For example...Fact is that new content is nice but this game has never had new content constantly churning out. People either just paced themselves, were limited by time they could spend, or took breaks in the past if they consumed it all like a content piranha and couldn't find new goals in the other content that was available that they had not interacted with.
On the one hand, we have something like poetics gear, which lets newer players effectively bypass the old gearing grinds and treadmills, while the current end-game gear grind can be whatever SE wants it to be.
On the other hand, when is a newer player to find time for something like Eureka or Bozja if the patch cycles don't provide time for players to do as they will?
Didn't you post this a few days ago?
So did you change your mind or something? Why surround yourself with what you perceive as a 'depressing environment' where people aren't actively kowtowing to Dawntrail?Wow.
Well that was my first and last visit to these forums. Nice to see that MMO forums truly are the same cesspools everywhere you go. Seriously speaking, Dawntrail was a breath of fresh air after what felt like neverending doom and gloom for so many expansions. And even then Dawntrail wasn't exactly sunshine and happiness, it was an expansion about Acceptance in various forms. Acceptance of birth, death, circumstance, limitations, ideals etc....
I really think people are in a wierd echo chamber about Dawntrail and failing to see it for what it is. The only thing I felt was a bit to forced was Wuk Lamats sudden entry in at the end. But even so the 7.1 story right away opened up multiple new threads, and there is a ton of unsolved mystery in Dawntrail if you actually do the optional dungeons and side quests...
Dawntrail felt like a modern take on ARR, except now we are the mentor figure. And it was honestly refreshing to me. And I loved Wuk Lamat, I didn't expect her to be some heroic figure, I expected an insecure young regent who is struggling to come to terms with her own position. And that is what I got, and she grew during the expansion.
The sheer negativity on these forums makes me feel a lot of you are really bored of FFXIV and what it actually is, and are playing out of attachment. And that is fine, but it also seems to lead you to dislike new content because it doesn't make you feel like the old content felt.
That is called Nostalgia and Rose tinted glasses, nothing can bring back that, but you can experience new content and enjoy it. If you try to stop expecting things, and just enjoy them for what they are instead.
I saw tons of hate about the endwalker post patch story as well, and that is probably my favorite storyline in all of FFXIV tbh. So yeah, I can tell the forums are a very negative echo chamber. So this will be my first and final post I suppose. I only came here to suggest that Chaos mode dungeons would be a nice thing, since so many leveling dungeons with cool mechanics never get to truly shine.
Oh well, enjoy your depressive posting I guess. It sure as hell made me feel sorry for you.
Don't get me wrong theirs a lot to do, but a lot of that is unappealing/side old content that not everyone is interested in.
I think why people are more vocal about the lack of things to do is the simple fact that theirs 1. no "open area" content similar to bozja currently 2. The jobs themselves play the same so doing a fight on a different job is not unique or interesting.
It's not like the game lacks content... theirs so much content, but a lot of the older content is out dated and not fun, even stuff at 80-90, you can do but in reality theirs no actual reward or reason to do them synched and that older content you lack more then half of your core class abilities.
If there was more experiences such as jobs feeling more different & jobs at older content feeling a lot better even when synched down while also maybe adding some sort of reward for still doing that content, they had a open world ect. People would complain less, but in reality most people watch forever for either a few raids or story content then they're pretty much done until the next patch. Maybe the direction of the game should be set out to making the game more fun, rather then just following the same formular.
