This game needs more albacore content. SE devotes too much time making content that caters to the bass pros.
You may not have seen it, but I can say for sure that I saw people complaining about it in Stormblood. I was more interested in RP and catching up on missed quests/jobs/beast tribes and so on at the time and quite tired hearing all these "nothing to do" complaints. I got into hunting and people were collecting mounts, so I thought why not do that with them since it gives content longevity.
In EW, these forums were full of "nothing to do" complaints (sound familiar)? If you didn't see it in EW then you must not have so much as glanced at these forums.
No, content wasn't that rough. Think of it as being like Dawntrail content except no telegraphs hardly. No tank buster indicators, no arrows saying "this mechanic happening, stand here!", stack markers were only added half-way through the expansion. They had less overall nut and bolt mechanics to work with than they do now. They also gave the party more responsibility (placing permanent AoEs on the ground for example) which is now exclusive to High-End content.wasn't content in HW infamously rough and carried by the story beats?
Aside from the lack of indicators, arrows and telegraphs, what made Heavensward tougher was:and jobs were too easy to mess up:
- Vuln stacks for messing up (and they were more devastating than now)
- Jobs had less ability to deal with the mechanics (hardly any off-GCD heals, way less tank mitigation/selfheals, so even trash hurt and made you rely on the healer), no universal knockback immunity.
But despite all that, I was still farming Expert roulette in Heavensward in the same "it's braindead on farm" way as I do now. It's just more refined and polished now in my opinion.
- Combos expired after a few SECONDs
- you had to look at enemies to auto/block
- ranged attacks or stray GCDs broke combos
- positionals were a much bigger deal for damage
- you had keep-up buffs that were hard for most of the casual playerbase to keep up properly
- rotations were not clearly explained so people did them wrong (doing a fraction of their damage potential)
- there was less leeway so tunnel vision was common
- doing one thing wrong would cost you the ability to use high-damage parts of the rotation for ages
- dying reduced main stats not just substats which was devastating
- a lot of abilities were "I use them but wish they were better stuff" (think physical mit being like Dark Mind was but worse)
- the jobs weren't particularly balanced and couldn't necessarily deal with all things very well (ie. paladin against magic).
You do realize games are meant to be fun?
Fishing is not fun.
If Yoshi P added a 1000 hour grind that involved staring at a wall watching paint dry it still wouldn't be as boring as the entirety of the Fishing job currently is to me. Just because you're a masochist doesn't mean everyone has to be as well.
I'm confused.... You were expecting something else with 7.1? This has been the model for .1 patches since heavensward? Relics start in .25 patches for the last 2 expansions?
7.1 was never going to be more than an alliance raid and a beast tribe, and in this case hildibrand as well. But thats nothing out of the ordinary?
And a fair few people enjoyed both Eureka and Bozja, so not sure what you are on about. I'm honestly starting to wonder why some people hang about forums for a game they so clearly dislike. You are spouting dislike for the same content the game has always gotten?
I just dont know how both reddit and the offical forums for this game are such pits of negativity when I see the opposite daily in the game itself.
Did they suddenly remove all combat jobs, dungeons etc from the game? You do realize games are meant to be fun?

You are saying that the game isn't fun, then why play? I see this all the time with MMO players "It's not worth doing". Without a reward it isn't fun, then you don't actually enjoy the gameplay do you? You enjoy getting stuff.
I honestly don't get how people can enjoy a game and then suddenly turn to dislike it when they're done getting stuff. I mean the game isn't any less fun to play afterwards, it is the same gameplay?
This is a place of critical feedback, not blowing smoke up the backside of the developers or making "Feel good wholesome posts".I'm confused.... You were expecting something else with 7.1? This is where you go to voice your dissatisfaction and post feedback. All you're ever going to see here is people voicing dissatisfaction with elements of the game and how they would fix it. If you want the mindless positivity join the club on Twitter or Bluesky.
Looks like someone has a tweve year olds reading comprehension. I said Fishing wasn't fun. How do you read that as "This game sucks as a whole I hate it".Did they suddenly remove all combat jobs, dungeons etc from the game?

HW still offered the Anima weapons questline, in addition to Exploratory Missions for the .15 patch.I'm confused.... You were expecting something else with 7.1? This has been the model for .1 patches since heavensward? Relics start in .25 patches for the last 2 expansions?

Also, it's not that they dislike the game, they simply want something to do, implying they want to play the game, and would otherwise enjoy it if they actually had something to do.
Forums and Reddit are generally going to be filled with people that are impacted by the content lifecycle the most, and whilst people may be enjoying the game in-game, this does not necessarily mean they don't have issues with the game, or don't have things they vehemently dislike. Even when I login to play with friends, I am not really discussing issues with the game, because I am there in a social capacity.
But really none of that matters as the statistics with the current game population already indicate an issue. Sure, it's nothing out of the ordinary to expect drops, but this is the lowest population point, in, what? The last 4 years, and we still have another 3 1/4 months to go until 7.2.
