That's the issue right there. You don't know. We already had that with your inability to level your crafters/gatherers since DT launch, despite admitting to playing several hours each day. And when people gave you dozens of solutions with which you could fix your problem, you still spend a ridiculous amount of posts to swat every suggestion down. You have 'no way' of knowing if they are not making the effort vs just being completely overwhelmed. I had to play loads, before I was good enough to feel like I had anything to contribe to PvP. You might not be one Allen, but I have met people who just walk into stuff, and they are 'good' from the outset. They make in just an afternoons attempt, the same progress other people spend months accumulating, and for them thats just the start. The "Arthars" of this world do exist, even if they got their skills first in other games or whatever. People who pickup XIV, skip and boost their way to end game, and jump stright into savage and then onto ultimate. So many times, you are just 'assuming' that people want to be as bad as they are and don't even 'want' to be better.

And I've seen you in other posts imply that you think you are able to tell just from people's performance, the effort they are making. So I accuse you on that form of doing it again here. You constantly make assumptions about people, for factors that are variable, and you really sound confident. (Dont stop it's just a forum and sometimes your just trying to be bombastic and it is entertaining) There may be another conclusion, but the only one I can come up with you assume other people are the same as you with respect to x and, y, but for some reason when it comes to Z their 'will' they are 'willfully' choosing not to play the game the way you choose to, but you ignore x and y.

(The gill thing is getting boring but I will keep saying, I only want to do battle content. I dint want to mb trade beyond selling my inventory for space, or one artificial one hit hunts for Gil. Because truth is I dint really want to do savage in just forced to because Extreme farming is unpleasant, and casual is so unengaging to repeat. I want to enjoy crafting that means a bit here and a bit there when I want to craft, not when I dint because I'm forced to level make gear. I personally can't criticise for liking the sound of one's own voice that's a full 40% of why I'm here (time on my hands now I'm un-subbed). That's not to say I shouldn't also 'be' criticised for the same (although as this is a forum it would seem odd to criticise for discourse for fun). Even a little bit of trolling as long as troll targets that have shown they can take it and give as good as you give (rather than picking soft targets for hurt)
But it is hard to ignore when you can see it's done in all seriousness. I dint believe these kinds of talk can ever begin to change certain types of rigid thinking. But I do believe you can 'sew seeds' to open minds. I know it works on me. I take a piece of data. I'm not sold today. But tomorrow I take another piece of data and 'oh shit! I get it!'

"Generalizing" .. man, you don't even know what that word means. The OP admitted to throwing the game, and there are constantly people in Frontline who just afk, obviously feed, or outright state that they just throw to make it end faster. There is no "generalization" there. Words have meaning, and yes, the Frontline experience would be better without all the people who just afk, obviously feed, or outright state that they just throw to make it end faster. This is a game, and Frontline is a competitive mode within that game. If people don't like doing that, they need to stay away from it.

I asked before, have none of you ever played any sports in a club? Or basically any kind of group activity? The most basic requirement for any kind of group activity, is that all participants at least want to do that activity in the first step. But especially for FF14, way too many people don't want to actually play FF14. That is as for from reasonable as can be.

Yes, I can actually tell how much effort someone who is afk is making. One can actually tell quite a lot about how well others are doing, when one gets actually good at the game, instead of, you know, accusing every crafter on PC of using mods and "cheating" for using macros. Or that not a single person has the 2 neurons to put together a crafting rotation by themselves, or actually manually craft (which shows that you don't even know what Expert recipes are).

You can accuse all day long, the difference between us is, that I go by what the people actually say and how they behave, while you ... well, just say whatever comes to your mind with no filter or due diligence. You post a lot, you say very little. You didn't even understand why people got mad at you for accusing them of cheating / 3rd party usage, as if that was just some statement about the weather. Empathy doesn't mean to just feel sorry when someone is sad.

If someone is deeply unsatisfied with the game, has no motivation for it, no hopes, everything smells, then yes, it's actually reasonable to say they are suffering from video game addiction. Because that's the symptoms someone with video game addiction would show. It's not "normal" behavior with an entertainment product to be constantly dissatisfied with the product itself, yet still give it money at every turn.

You are what "peaked in high school" looks like for a FF14 player. Your previous post contains nothing but the worst generalizations and groupings of "casual" and "hardcores", as if these two groups are in any way homogeneous. That's always the problem with these "discussions", since these terms are used to describe whatever the poster needs at the time to slag some group. Sometimes it's "skill", sometimes it's "time spend", sometimes it's "do hardcore players even care about hairstyles". It's all essentialist garbage. That's why this whole "casual strike" thread is laughable to no end, especially given that in this expansion, quite a few "casuals" I know have actually started doing some of the high-end combat duties, like Unreal and the first EX trials. Yes, they need support and explanation and all that, but they make an effort, in all aspects of this game. Which is more than can be said for especially the OP, who goes into Eureka, encounters a single challenge at the beginning, and instantly nopes out. Which is fine, but don't talk like you know anything about where to put this kind of content in terms of difficulty.

If all you want to do is battle content, I'm not sure how after 4 weeks you were not ready if all you want to do is battle content.

Your point is... 'the' point.
But sadly it doesn't change the reality of the game. I had two weeks off work.
I went back and looked at the dedicated Gpose diary I kept if my DT adventure. It was wonderful. Poses at vistas. A new glam ever 3 MSQ levels. (side quests here and there, I still maintain not a lot) Lots of FATES organically (on foot still) to enjoy the zones.

I was still 'enjoying' MSQ on 20th July, including that 2 weeks off.
I still wouldn't want to do the next expansion differently either. I want to spend 2/3 weeks making the story and the new zones 'feel big', like an epic adventure.
Sadly though, I'm really bored of the casual battle content (such is barely 'playable' content it's so lacking in 'resistance')

So for me, this game can have no future. It's time for me to progress to end game, but how I play is not 'organised' and 'goal oriented' enough. And I absolutely do not want to 'organise' my gaming. It's not why I do any gaming.
I do think it's a shame. I'd only need 2/3 extra weeks, and this casual player might not need to ask for more casual content. Further more high end are going to have months and months of nothing by end expansion. So what's the hurry?

I know it is fact, from outside these forums, that I am not alone, in it being the game's schedule that is the problem with high end. We were a casual group, that had been mentored by a high end group and came together over extremes, and the new expansion just split us up again, they were 'all' done with MSQ in about 3 days.

Now I think about it, I suggest it might be this schedule that is 'filtering' out players who are happy to do high end, but do not 'massively' 'enjoy' being goal oriented above all else. And so PF is full of the sort of people who abandon before a third pull.

However, I do recognise that does not at all mean that there are very many more than that handful of people I did know who are like minded.
