As you say, it's a catalogue of all the cash shop gear. It doesn't need to know what you have and what it can or can't show you or allow you to apply to your gear; it just displays everything.

I do think it would be worthwhile to expand Dreamfitting into a catalogue of all gear that exists in the game so people can look up things like dungeon sets, but it would still be a separate function from the glamour dresser which tracks what you own and insert into it.
My main point is that the usual argument against a glamour catalogue is all the data storage, the challenge of pulling all the gear and having it display on your avatar, etc. etc. - but the dreamfitting feature does it all already.

The actual process of glamouring is already in the game with the glamour dresser, we just need to basically smash the two together and hey presto.
