    I mean it's not that I don't get it - FFXIV is inherently a very casual game and hence having very casual jobs is conductive to its playerbase - but if that's the goal then Dragoon was already more or less the most casual-friendly melee DPS around, more so than even Viper and Reaper.

    It wasn't that way until 7.0 tho. I'd say DRG was the only melee left with interesting job mechanic (Dragon Gauge) that worked on OGCDs instead of GCDs, which allowed to make new burst windows and stuff like that. But not anymore, since, for some reason, EVERY job needs to be braindead.
