    I'm rather surprised so many of you think that increasing APM is sophisticated dungeon design. It strikes me as lazy and unimaginative at best. I'm less surprised by the complete lack of empathy for a genuine issue.

    You shouldn't be surprised, talk to any worker dealing with the public and they'll tell you how more entitled and less considerate of others people's time people get as they age.

    No problem, I'll keep reminding people not to be inconsiderate of other people's time and effort as long as it's needed. This is an MMO after all, it's important to remember the other 3/7 characters in your party are actual people and not NPCs there to serve your every need.

    We really don't need to go into the casuals vs hardcore thing all over again... Either way, there's already a ton of both hard and easy content. As a casual player I'd love some midcore stuff, Bozja and Eureka are getting a little old.

    As for MSQ content they should just add an echo vision mode for players who struggle more, where you can see those instant aoes before regardless of clues. If you got SOME reflexes it won't put you at a disadvantage not to use it.

    I don't know about sophisticated. But SE obviously thinks it is a way to make it more "exciting" or "challenging".

    I do agree that all games should have an easy mode and a hard mode, because some people don't play them for challenge but rather simply to pass the time or as an interactive novel/film.

    However, in this game specifically the dungeons are really not that difficult even if you can't do the mechanics. You can play a tank and stand in attacks, using mits or invuln. I remember a player the other day had 8 vulns in a dungeon and survived, showing other players can carry you through. If those vulns eventually kill you, they will probably just resurrect you.

    But it's still often the case that people who are struggling just don't understand the mechanics or the game itself, so it's worth people considering that before determining it's a disability.

    While age can result in issues building up over time, it's not necessarily or strictly the case for everyone. Yoshi-P is 51 years old and has streamed himself clearing savage. The creator of Final Fantasy is 61 and has cleared ultimates.

    I agree with most of what you say, and initially jumped in to this thread to endorse Valence's point that DT MSQ dungeon design tends to rely heavily on very rapid AoEs. A slowing of reaction times certainly varies between people, but as a general trend it's a neurological inevitably.

    When people claim that "when you reach Level X in this game it's reasonable to expect you can do Y," that's true in the abstract. But simply requiring more rapid reaction times every expansion means that more and more people will hit their skill cap. Apparently there are players who feel that rather than having a discussion about this, the preferable solution is to wave them bye bye. I guess we're not wanted because older people are "inconsiderate and entitled." Just ask any worker!

    FWIW I cleared all the DT MSQ dungeons using Duty Support precisely because I dislike being carried and slowing down others. There are players even older than me in my FC who are unable to do so, and it is the required rapidity of movement in such dungeons that they cite as the problem.
