It's wild how indifferent I feel after DT for the first time in 11 years.

I am one who absolutely hated Endwalker, but could still understand what it was trying to do and why people loved it. Then the Endwalker post-patch story drained my soul so badly I didn't even resubscribe and finish the 6.X series until the day before early access because I thought it was that bad. Now I'm here, looking at Endwalker, and telling myself I shouldn't have been so harsh on it given what we got in Dawntrail because somehow, to me personally, they did an even worse job. I don't care about anything that'll happen in the post patch because every single thing I DID care about during MSQ was just mocked.

I was REALLY hopeful about Krile's role in Dawntrail given she was constantly hyped up in the fanfest keynotes to play a REALLY big role. Instead we got Krile getting fucking screwed over again, and again, and again. Constantly being told "No" to wanting ANY answers. LEARNING ABOUT HER ORIGINS OFF-SCREEN. Her earring apparently being super important but she cannot use it herself because Wuk Lamat's nephew needed that moment instead. Then finally we get SOMETHING with her parents in Living Memory...and it's just a 10-15 minute little thing where Krile wants to learn about the Milala but Wuk Lamat decided NOW is the perfect time to complain the entire time, and then it's over and we move on and Krile is thrown back in the garbage. Hell Cahciua was introduced in zone 5 and had MORE spoken words of dialogue in zones 5/6 then Krile had THE ENTIRE EXPANSION.

And speaking of Zone 6...I genuinely felt bad about the people in Living Memory and deleting them, going "It must suck to essentially be forced to live forever because a group of people made a robot with a flawed concept that you all must live no matter what the cost" going into it...Only to then have literally everyone in the zone not give a single fuck if they are deleted or not. They don't care. Nobody cares. And you're constantly told that again, and again, and again while trying to force emotional moments between the "goodbyes" at the end of each terminal. Yeah I cried during Eren and Cahciua's moment, only to the critically think about it and realize Cahciua, or anyone else really, didn't once ever really care about how Erenville felt at all while we were shutting everything down, and then essentially guilt tripped him at the very end to be happy. I wasted my emotion card on a zone that essentially mocked and laughed at me from beginning to end for having feelings about it.

There was just so many things wrong with Dawntrail to me personally that I genuinely don't have any faith in the post-patch MSQ story to deliver anything that'll fix how I feel. If they do, great, I'll be happy to be proven wrong, but I'm not going to inhale the copium until I actually see if they take their "We'll look at the feedback from players and fix the story during the patches accordingly" stance like they said they would and see some actual results.
