They postponed it. It should arrive next week.
The fact they only notified via forums that there will be an announcement , which has now also been postponed for another week , feels so weird to some extent.
Not only is it something that got addressed so late since release but ,really , a delay and no lodestone notice about it whatsoever? But viper changes got a notice before they even went through? I don't know about you guys but having a portion of your playerbase literally not even be able to play their game anymore because of eye strain from the graphical update or straight up botching character appearances feels like it deserves more attention and notice than kneejerk job changes nobody asked for.
It really feels more like a pacifier to stop the forum being a dumpster fire of feedback that they've lost control off and let fester. We'll see how it goes I guess but my expectations are 6ft under.

I was able to mitigate (though not quite fix) the issues I had by switching to FSR and FXAA; DLSS and TSCMAA made it so the picture was fine if I wasn't moving but blurry in motion, and I'm pretty sure that tricked my eyes into constantly trying to refocus. It's not perfect now, but it's much better. for me.I'm just seeing this thread for the first time, and while I don't have the time to read through 63 pages of comments, I'm curious if someone familiar with this thread/issue can tell me if folks have uncovered any details as to what is causing the issue and what factors determine who it impacts?
I personally haven't experienced any eye strain issues from Dawntrail, but I'm incredibly familiar with the fact that different stimuli impact different people in different ways. I'm always curious to learn more about anything that has to do with accessibility.

This is what's been frustrating me about all this. In the past issues they've deemed significant have gotten regular communication and updates on the lodestone. The closest thing to addressing these issues has been an announcement about brightness settings in housing and that was nearly two months ago. Someone reported their issues and was directed to email an accessibility team inbox in EU. No one in this thread has confirmed receiving a response from that inbox. Even the issues with the benchmark got more of a response than this. I swear issues with the Endwalker launch were discussed regularly by YoshiP while the devs were working to address them. Instead we're reading the dev tracker like we're trying to divine from tea leaves. The radio silence is weird and especially disheartening. There's even a line in the rising event about how the devs are listening and I can't help but doubt. It sure doesn't feel like it.The fact they only notified via forums that there will be an announcement , which has now also been postponed for another week , feels so weird to some extent.

If you want more informations why the game causes eye strain because it looks so blurry in motion:

And yes, DLSS/DLAA is basically TAA with some upscaling and AI stuff included.
Cheers
Glowing platforms are blurry and dizzying because of the forced bloom. Disgusting.

Professional lurker.
Why?? Normally my complaint is just that it makes it harder for me to see but I just think it looks bad too.. it reminds me of when I thought I was cool for using Photoshop but all I knew how to do was blur the photo and overlay it on the original one.
I respect people who enjoy bloom too cause we all have different eyes and tastes but that.. ruins the entire fight's aesthetics for me. It surely looked better with bloom before DT and it looks like that now because of lighting engine changes right..?
it/its - 14 accessibility is bad, ease of access is not accessibility, jobs are boring. Transphobia ruins real attempts at criticism and it's whack.

Temporal Anti-Aliasing solutions are in no way inherently blurry in motion. They generally have better motion clarity than any other options and are on top of that the only solutions that are fully temporally stable. WHEN implemented correctly. Which neither DLSS nor TCSMAA are. Their camera jitter doesn't even work in half of all game situations and when it does work it behaves unlike anything else in the industry. Temporal AA does literally not work without jitter, btw, so that's extra great. If you want more informations why the game causes eye strain because it looks so blurry in motion:

The perceived issues with motion clarity in XIV outside of FXAA or AA off are 100% a problem of their own creation. TAA does often cause an overall softer image, that generally gets worked against with built in sharpening solutions but XIV doesn't even do that correctly.

Other SE games with TAA(XVI and 7R are the main culprits I'm aware of) have the same issue, so it's a company-wide mistake that they just aren't willing to fix for some reason.Temporal Anti-Aliasing solutions are in no way inherently blurry in motion. Thanks for the info! I wonder if they will mention the eye strain issues.
