    I've been leveling an alt through Stormblood. Through sheer luck, whenever I was in Gyr Abania, it was night in game. Today I was in the upper part of the Peaks during the day, and the glare from the sands made me go for sunglasses just long enough to teleport back to town. I've gone through the area multiple times on multiple characters and never had a problem before.

    Now I don't even want to think about what the Everlasting Light in Shadowbringers will do to my eyes. So, I don't think that character is going much farther for a while......

    The bloom is way too bright and overtuned. They really need to add either a toggle to turn it off or turn it down substantially. I really hope they do this, it would make a lot of the issues people have about the metal with the bright shimmers go away as well. Everything really goes back to the bloom imo. (And a better temporal/dlss implementation)

    I wish the development team would at the very least acknowledge the issues presented in this thread. Just looking at screenshots makes my eyes hurt.
    Omg!! I knew the bloom was bad since DT but I didn't realize HOW bad. Wow that difference is INSANE no wonder my eyes aren't happy D:

    No word about the eye strain issues yet again tho the game seemed less blurry on stream than it is now, not sure if this is due to yt compression so can't say for sure. At least they're addressing the vomit inducing mount tilt and add a toggle to turn it off.
    Overall tho dunno...it still feels like this issue is ignored on purpose with all the radio silence on it. The bug reports regarding the blur and also ghosting are also still marked as "cofirmed/planning to address":

    I joined the forum just to post here (SE support was useless). I've been suffering from eye strain and headaches since Dawntrail. Feeling physical pain while playing a video game is not okay. I never had these issues before the graphics update.

    The option to turn off mount tilt in 7.1 is a step in the right direction but it's not enough! We used to be able to turn off bloom (as a part of glare) and wet surface effects but they removed these settings. I want them back, I always turn off bloom in every game, my poor eyes are not compatible with glowing, bright lights. The rain and wet surfaces are downright nauseating in this game. I also want to turn off graphics upscaling because it makes everything blurry, especially when I move. Forced graphics settings in 2024 sound like a bad joke, and yet here we are.
