Here's the unfortunate reality in regards to that, and it genuinely is a shame.

Respect is earned. Not simply given. There's been countless occurrences of people in that community committing heinous acts against others for generally innocuous things over the past decade or so. As well as the general attitude portrayed by the selfsame people towards the general populace being incredibly arrogant, entitled, vitriolic, and self-righteous.

All while insisting they are the victims. No matter the circumstance.

Whatever good will and respect there was ten-odd years ago has greatly diminished because of this. People are fed up with it. As hard it may be to hear, the majority of the blame is on that community. Not as a whole, of course. Which should go without saying. However, this attitude I allude to is prevalent everywhere you look online. These forums included.

Anyway, yes. Every individual is an individual. Obviously. That's also why I pointed out that the fault doesn't lie on them as a whole. Again, there's been countless examples throughout the years of people who call themselves trans being absolutely despicable people. Doxxing people, causing them to lose their jobs, assault, the list goes on.

If you choose to be ignorant of all of it, then that's your choice.

I think with community he means the same one that spearheaded slander campaigns against twitch streamers playing Hogwarts Legacy for example. Sent them threats and spewed a bunch of disgusting messages in their chat. You know the type that call everyone a transphobe, terf and bigot if you don't agree to their exact terms. The ones that hang out in an echo chamber on twitter and reddit and are up in arms over nothing because they are so self-absorbed they think the whole world should adapt just for them.
