Newsflash pal, you live on the internet. There are literally BILLIONS of people that use it, and there will never be a time where people will just "not post" stuff like this. It's not normalization I'm talking about, its realism. Its better to laugh at these crazy weirdo's and not take them seriously. Out of the thousands of comments about this VA and Wuk, a tiny fraction of a minority are probably death threats, made by bots, random people who are blowing off steam or genuine schizo's or ESL's who barely speak english. Apologies if I can see through the bullshit that 99% of the people who complain about "death threats" online complain about, especially when proof of them don't exist.
I have no idea what you hope to gain defending sending someone death threats but good luck with that lol
I'm not defending it. You just don't understand my point. My point is it is an inevitability you will see this kind of shit online, so it's better to ignore it and not take it seriously, and certainly not try to use baseless threats as a chip to try to garner sympathy when you're a shithead online.
None of this is compelling.Newsflash pal, you live on the internet. We live on a planet of billions yes, and a relatively small percentage actual murder. It will happen. "it's realism" doesn't make it right.
Sure the stakes of a threat are lower, but we live in a time of daily mass shootings in the US. More and more people act out to "blow off steam" or are "genuine schizo's" and we shouldn't laugh off warning signs.
As someone who has a friend who was shot in the head in front of his 2 year old daughter, I take murder and the threats of extremely seriously. While most threats go nowhere, they should not be minimized or tolerated. Even one realized threat is too many, and it's nothing to "laugh at."
I have a friend whose background is explicitly in criminology. He's done a lot of research into this sort of behavior, and, paraphrasing slightly:Newsflash pal, you live on the internet. There are literally BILLIONS of people that use it, and there will never be a time where people will just "not post" stuff like this. It's not normalization I'm talking about, its realism. Its better to laugh at these crazy weirdo's and not take them seriously. "For every genuine threat someone sends on the internet, there's a thousand sent that aren't. They're sent because they're crackpots, because it's funny, because they stepped on a lego or got cut off in traffic. They're sent because they didn't have their pills, or their morning coffee. They're sent because it's funny. They're sent because it gets a reaction. There's as many reasons as there are threats sent, and the overwhelming majority of them are the equivalent of yelling for the guy who cut you off in traffic to go **** himself."
I have no doubt Sena received threats. The question is how many of them are valid, and how many are 'I'mma make Mr. and Mrs. Tenorman Chili'.
It doesn't change that the behavior's not warranted. It really isn't. What needs to be kept in mind is that law enforcement would track down a threat made to a woman in... I dunno, Cali? And find it came from a 14 year old boy in Maine who thought it was really funny to tell her that he was going to cut her open and use her as a canoe or something. That's what most of them are.
Tell law enforcement all the same, but shut up because if that woman goes online and posts that she was told she was going to be turned into a meat toboggan, you'll get the people coming out of the woodwork to argue what bones would make the best skis for it. That doesn't mean the internet's full of human-vehicle conversion serial killers, it means it's funny to be an ***hole.
Oh no I understand you completely. I just disagree with you that we should "just ignore it" when people are being a shithead to people. You know, like any decent person would, would you want people to "just ignore it" when people are being a shithead and sending death threats to you?I'm not defending it. You just don't understand my point. My point is it is an inevitability you will see this kind of shit online, so it's better to ignore it and not take it seriously, and certainly not try to use baseless threats as a chip to try to garner sympathy when you're a shithead online.
Clearly it is not a fact, that part was a joke. Though I do think BB is better than GG on a personal level. I prefer GG and BB's neutral game is different and I prefer BB's over GG. Also in terms of gameplay I love the longer combos in BB. By no means do I really think BB is factual better, it was just an comment. Both have a place I just prefer BB over GG.
It's extremely simple
Death threats = bad
Wuk Lamat = bad
Wuk Lamat Voice Acting = bad
Sena = bad
I remember you being present when people from latam was saying her accent is fake but no, that's all you saw.I didn't like the job she did with Wuk Lamat but I stopped mentioning it because genuinely I saw nothing but the grossest, nastiest comments laden with transphobia and all kinds of stuff completely unrelated to the VA job she did attached to the majority of people criticizing her work after a certain point.
I guess I'm transphobic for thinking that she's faking a latam accent, I learn every day how there's always a new requisite to hit that label, and the bar keeps getting lower.
You left off the next part of what I said.I remember you being present when people from latam was saying her accent is fake but no, that's all you saw.

And here is some proof of a thread the mods literally had to close because the transphobia and harassment towards Sena got too bad:I didn't like the job she did with Wuk Lamat but I stopped mentioning it because genuinely I saw nothing but the grossest, nastiest comments laden with transphobia and all kinds of stuff completely unrelated to the VA job she did attached to the majority of people criticizing her work after a certain point. At the start of the expansion there were legitimate criticisms, but most people just stopped caring as they finished the MSQ and moved on and all that was left were the bigots.

A thread that you posted in and saw the transphobia happening for yourself. Why are you lying and pretending like it never happened?
