My point: All of FF14 community is the laughing stock. Doesn't matter where you go. We're MMO players for god's sake - no one's writing home about our contributions to society

We are on the internet. We're all isolated into our own little communities (read: echo chambers), we are all to some extent radicalised in our beliefs and we think everyone with a different opinion is wrong/crazy/woke/-ist/-phobe.
Forums/Reddit/X are just meeting places where disparate communities get to interact and most of the time the result is little more than: flaming, shitposts and bad memes.

I think it's just important to keep reminding ourselves that behind the avatars there are real people with real feelings and there's no place for personal insults and generalisation - something I, and I'm sure most of us, are guilty of sometimes.

For example, using a stupid word like "she" might mean nothing
to most of us, but it means everything to someone. Using the proper words is a basic human decency.

I know nothing about this VA besides some random twitter posts people have linked and, yes, from these very few posts I've seen
she seems to have a victim mentality and is attention seeking, but a few comments do not paint a full picture of a person. And even if she's like that all the time and she is that horrible and annoying, why "stoop to her level" and misgender/insult her, lol?

What she does in her personal life or what is between her legs has nothing to do with bad VA performance, miscasting, bad direction, horrible writing, boring quest design, etc.

It's a female character and the VA is credited under a female name.
To call her "him", one has to go out of their way to look up her history and social media presence, and then make the deliberate decision to use words she'd feel insulted by. This is creepy and weird.

Not only is calling her a "she" a basic decency, it's also far quicker and simpler
