People can dislike raids on grounds other than difficulty. Personally, I think NieR raids are about as boring as CT raids, they just take twice as long because the bosses have too much HP. Unless a sufficient amount of DPS players are pressing their buttons, half the bosses manage to cycle through all of their mechanics twice sometimes. But then I also don't like the NieR aesthetic and thought the storyline was incredibly stupid, so I think their only redeeming quality is the music.Nier- is the only raid series that hasn’t been so bloated with ilvl creep you can basically fall asleep and still clear it in 12 minutes
14 community; ewwww gross pls nerf
Every other alliance raid- literal beige nothing ruined by potency creep so nobody notices you spamming hakaze
14 community; yes this right here, this is perfect
We truly get the garbage we deserve in casual endgame content when people defend myths over nier
Ah, I see you are a part of the problem. How about just play the game. For me, the reason I used to ilvl cheese Alliance Roulette was purely because of Nier Raids. They take obsessively long compared to the others and the EXP wasn't worth the time either. In the time you can finish one Alliance Roulette with Nier, you can do two on level dungeons and get almost double the EXP in a faster time frame.
"I want people to be forced into the content I want them to be forced into. Because surely, someone not wanting to be there is going to put 100% effort in and not completely phone it in and make this take way longer than it should."
It's like people don't understand that when someone feels forced to do something, they are going to put in the bare minimum effort, and probably just 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 and die a lot.
It would be overall more efficient to have someone who wants to be there rather than have a warm body just taking up a spot.
But this is typical western thinking at it's most typical.
"You should do what I want you to do. But you should also still do it to the best of your ability because I said so."
As if this somehow isn't the most narcissistic way of thinking imaginable.
I genuinely do not understand people that are upset to get any of the longer or more difficult raids in roulette.
I am not here to try and speedrun/optimize my time-to-EXP-and-tomes ratio. I log in to play a game I enjoy playing. I don't feel like I'm playing the game when I'm stuck in another Crystal Tower Raid with half of my kit, so I have to mindlessly press 1-2-3 forever until we clear and never have to actually try and do anything to survive.
Meanwhile if I get a higher level raid, I actually get a proper rotation and get to feel engaged by the gameplay as there's actual mechanics to pay attention to.
The devs could fix this by tuning it so the Crystal Tower raids actually had some teeth again and making jobs feel fully functional at level 50, but then these same people would cry about how new Sycrus Tower is too hard and taking too long. Why did you even sign up for Alliance raid roulette, then? To NOT play the game? To get your daily rewards for the barest possible effort by doing something you don't even enjoy?
Once again, if you get a raid in roulettes that you really hate that much, rather than griefing the 23 other players by doing bad dps on purpose or sulking on the floor for half the raid, just leave. Eat your 30 minute time out and go do something else in the meantime. Someone who actually likes the NieR and Ivalice raids will be happy to fill your slot.
I was/am playing the game, the way I want/ed to within the bounds of the system. If you don't like it, that's honestly too bad for you and I personally don't care to submit to your feelings on the issue.
By signing up for a roulette you're agreeing to do whatever random thing you get. No one is being forced to sign up for a roulette that has a chance of giving you content you don't want to do. CT isn't my favorite thing to get in a roulette, but I still put in the effort to do it, because griefing my party isn't cool. It's a game, I'm not sure why people are queuing for roulettes if they aren't going to have fun doing them. If I'm not feeling like Syrcus Tower the 5th day in a row I just skip my alliance raid roulette for the day. I'm not gonna lose sleep over skipping out on alliance raids for a day or two."I want people to be forced into the content I want them to be forced into. Because surely, someone not wanting to be there is going to put 100% effort in and not completely phone it in and make this take way longer than it should."

I appreciate players like this. My pov as well, tbh.
100% whether its what I want or not.
At the end of the day, we're all just trying to get through our roulettes, so we can move on to something we'd rather be doing.
