What are you talking about regarding the Xbox graphics and upscaling? I am not playing on Xbox but I play on PS5 and the game looks exactly the same as it did pre patch 7.01. I am not seeing anything in the notes where console graphics were adjusted. There's 2 glare settings for whatever reason, the first one already had the Off Option before the update but isn't for bloom. The second one straight up doesn't work. Overall there's no difference in the settings to yesterday (on PC that is, they did something for XBox with the upscaler or so)

Was something with dynamic resolution, my bad.

Boop!
I wanted to bump this with my additional concerns about eye strain since the release of Dawntrail two weeks ago. First, I'm so sorry that so many of you are experiencing issues, and I hope things are addressed so you can enjoy the game. I am however thankful that I'm not alone in this, as playing Dawntrail has made me feel extremely sick.
As with many others in this thread, I have concerns about the lack of settings to dial in our experiences in-game with regards to DLSS and FSR, but my main concerns lay in the bright flashing and flickering lights that are often used in Dawntrail zones, dungeons, and trials--the level 97 and 99 dungeons, 100 trial, and extreme trials are chief among them as a few of you have mentioned. Since completing Dawntrail EX1 on Saturday (7/13), I have had a nonstop migraine and nausea and haven't played other than to check my retainers and tinker with some settings my friends said might help.
I am disappointed in Square Enix's over-reliance on flashy effects that not only affect computer performance but our aforementioned eye-strain issues we all have detailed here, and hope that they will address things further than the 7.01 update that released this morning.
Hi all, I wanted to bump this thread because I am still having eyestrain issues in regards to the new graphics update--and interestingly, the 7.05 update that added the savage raids last week made my computer performance worse. I think I saw someone else mention constant frame stuttering as well, but in addition to the intense amount of glare and over-sharpening I also have frame drops upwards of 20%. Last week it happened almost every 30 seconds and was pretty annoying to play and worsens my headache and eyestrain. My brain feels kind of like it's being shaken in a jar. I'm glad I can turn my laptop brightness all the way down and turn up the lights in my room, but I wish we had more abilities to tweak in-game settings that would fix the problem than putting a bandaid on it, so to speak (because having the lights on in my room that bright also causes eyestrain). I'm glad it seems that we have some confirmation that Square Enix is possibly working on the problem, and I'm looking forward to hearing more about their plans.
