Dawntrail Graphics Update - Eye Strain

I don't typically suffer from eye strain issues, but Bloomberg the Bloombird has been giving me a run for my money these past months.

A pic of how the glow looked pre-update (thank you, Lalafell youtuber). It's not the same location/lighting situation, but I find the glow is noticeably less intense.

Trying to hold out hope that these kinds of graphical "quirks" will be cleaned up and fixed sometime... eventually? Even if people weren't experiencing eye strain issues, this degree of bloom is still plain ugly.

There is nothing wrong with the lighting in this game. If you have a headache/eye-strain, then it's a you problem. This is a 1st world problem that whining about this is a waste of developers time & resources. Go see an eye doctor if you have any eye issue.

any complaint about this game would be a "1st world problem" but it is not a waste of dev time and resources, especially since they still are working on the graphical update so these oh so scarce resources have already been put into working on stuff like this lmao

and regardless the people in this thread very much have the right to "whine" about it when a product they bought and is actively paying a subscription for goes from little to no problems to nearly/completely unplayable after whats supposed to be an upgrade, not that the devs can't alienate these customers and piss all over their goodwill...

anyway, leave obvious troll to starve and instead keep making your problems heard about the game you're quite literally funding the resources for

Ty for posting those pictures. I mentioned the quite unbearable glow on mounts a few weeks ago on this thread but I didn’t took screenshots as proof.
The lanners are the most affected mounts imo

I experienced some A++ karma for the last person that tried to act like this towards me. I told a friend about the issues I've had since 7.0 and they brushed me off very callously, then a month later tried to come to me for sympathy when their doctor prescribed glasses to them. I cut them off for other reasons, but the lack of empathy while also wanting it from other was very funny.

Anywho, I actually HAVE gone to the doctor after I started having the issues.

The problem is XIV. I've never needed glasses, still don't need them, and I've never had issues with my eyes in my life until 7.0. and I do not have issues playing any other game.

Did you ever try Guild Wars 1? Guild Wars 1 had/has the worst bloom usage in history.

I am disappointed that we cannot turn it off still in this.

Gonna give this a bump of solidarity - I don't have any of these issues but it should be addressed for those that do.

Hope this gets resolved in the future. Eye strain and headaches is no good.

Sooooo, those depth of field changes-- and not just in Gpose, either, though that's certainly the most noticeable and worst of it.

Certain textures on the ground being blurry/looking almost like they have a chromakey effect until your camera zooms in close enough for them to straighten out and sharpen up, and the god awful transition between focal points in cutscenes (a character in the foreground to a character in the background and vice versa) have been particularly bad for me this patch.
